I mean seriously when it comes to gaming and quality games, I see no other companies that are on their level right now... With upcoming games like madden, gta type game, and their new modern warfare type game too...
so your saying that gameloft is the best company right now because of the three new highly anticipated games there going to release?
Well when it comes down to making the games that appeal to the masses, you can't get any better than Gameloft. Their games are so varied and console-like. They are the beef of iPhone gaming, then you have the juicy tomatoes - ngmoco and EA, then the sesame seeds - chillingo, then the rotten egg - khalid saikh!!! And there you have it - an App Store sandwhich Mmmm, that makes me hungry (apart from the rotten egg) lol.
A lot of other companies have games on equal quality level as theirs, but gameloft just has a large quantitiy really great games
Ngmoco owns Gameloft. And so does Chillingo. Gameloft is doing nothing but releasing cheap versions of console games, while Ngmoco and Chillingo are breaking new grounds. Gameloft blows.
Gameloft doesn't really polish their games, they make sure it's a solid port/release and upload it. Ngmoco is the company that has all of it's games very polished. Gameloft isn't so special...
I agree that Gameloft is well seated in the top tier of iPhone development. They have full featured games with good graphics and generally good gameplay. I was very pleased with HoS and BIA and would still recommend them. Ngmoco is great because of their all original content that is catering soley to the iPhone. Chillingo has some really good and innovative titles out, but they also have some really mediocre and unheard of games. I doubt there is anyone with all of the Chillingo games, but I have every one of Ngmocos (and I am sure other people do too). EA has some of the best graphics, highest prices, and remakes of well known games. They can bring games like Sims, that other companies can't.
I think that although gameloft is releasing alot of games lately none of them are high quality games like chillingo publishes and ea. So I do not think that they are the best.
Gameloft feels like EA did a few years ago. Releasing games but not really putting their blood, sweat and tears into it. Good, decent enough "console-ish" type games that have broad appeal. I think Ngmoco, PopCap and Firemint (even if they've only got two games) are doing a better job than Gameloft is. As far as who's doing the most business and has higher profitability? That's a different story.
