      I have iphone5 on 7.1.2,will that new metal tehnology work on iphone5 and if work do i need update to ios8 to use metal for new games?

      Metal works on A7+ devices (iPad Air, Mini 2, iPhone 5S, iPhone 6/6plus) only.

      too bad,ok good thing is that i dont need to update to ios8 than...

      Oh, but there are some more great features in iOS 8 which you shouldnt miss out imo.

      Is it just me or anyone else notice that after installing iOS 8 on devices that take advantage of metal that even your app icons on your home screen seem to look better/sharper?

      ^notice about that too, i thought it was just me. apple did an impressive jobs with metal, few games i tried is now showing much higher framerate, almost 4x times more particles effect on modern combat 5 and asphalt 8. i really curious to see what metal can do in the future when its fully optimised on iphone 6.
