Still hoping for some good deals despite a slow start. Edit: GOG.com has FTL cheaper when featured on rotating flash sale at $2.99.
And it's been $2.49 on Steam before... So far I haven't managed to buy anything so far. I've made $5.20 in trading card sales though - figure I'll get Fallout New Vegas GOTY if/when it goes 75% off (I just finished Fallout 3 last week, yeah I'm a tad behind... )
It's a great game... I preordered it on Steam before it came out! Already spent about $40 on Steam today... This is going to be a long and expensive a nine days!
My wishlist for deep discount: The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim Legendary Edition Borderlands 2 GOTY Injustice - Gods Among Us Gold Fallen Enchantress: Legendary Heroes Leader Pack DLC
Just wait for the dailies or flash sales... Also trying to decide whether I should pick up Talisman on iOS or Steam, and the same dilemma for Space Hulk on iOS or Steam... Man my wishlist is way too long.
Doom and Desaster! Steam sales. Awwww.... my wallet already hid somewhere under the couch and won't come out the next 10 days.
A couple of suggestions... One Way Heroics is a damn-nifty RPG/rogue-like-lite which is currently $0.87 with trading cards. and... Defy Gravity is currently $0.29 and will give you 3 trading cards that will sell for about that, you should make a penny or two. Have made about $7 now in trading cards right before the sale, need to get Fallout New Vegas complete, but am about to dump it on Pac-Man Championship Edition DX+ for instant gratification. F:NV goes on 75% off sale so often anyways...
As a petty enticement Steam offers digital picture "trading cards" as unlockable achievements. Some collect them but there is also a surreal micro-economy where trading cards are bartered or sold for Steam monies to other users. Many but not all games off trading cards as a feature in Steam. You can also combine cards to "craft" "rare" ones sometimes producing a coupon code or other perk (for example emoticons are unlockable for Steam chat).
It's a group of four games that goes on sale in 8 hour cycles. So there're three groups of flash sales for every one group of daily deals. The changeovers are 1:00 pm EST (US Time), 9:00 pm EST and 5:00 am EST.
32 games later and I've actually made more from the cards than I've spent, good sale for me! Edit: oh and I second the recommendation for One Way Heroics. Fantastic roguelike for a few pence with cards that pay for itself
32 games and it's 18 hours into the sale? Do tell us. Maybe I'm being too conservative or overlooking some gems.
