To cut a long story short, here are a few extracts from the press release: We are pleased to announce that Happy Hills, a physics-based puzzle game for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad, will be available in September 2011. The adorable Happy Hills live in the wonderful land of Euphoria where they enjoy a gleeful existence. That is until nasty Gloom Blocks start raining down their heads and spreading a foul mood throughout the land. Your task is to free the Happy Hills from the nasty blocks. You have a limited number of bombs that need to be strategically placed in order to remove the blocks from the Happy Hills’ heads. To solve a level perfectly and earn precious stars, the blocks need to be destroyed as well. Collecting all of the stars unlocks challenging bonus levels. The Gloom Blocks not only come in different shapes and sizes, they are also made from different materials, such as wood, stone or iron - each with different physical properties. During the course of the game, you'll intuitively learn how the various blocks behave, what their weaknesses are, and how to utilize the level’s terrain to the best effect. Damn free? Is that why u pushed the release back? Slightly turned off but it still looks great, hope you don't have to end up paying like $10 for the full game though
The past few weeks have been all about playtesting, bugfixing, polishing the game, balancing the levels, finetuning the controls, and testing again, to make sure that the game plays super smooth. For that we needed some extra time, and I hope you'll agree that we've spent it well Well, you can play the whole grassland region, all 48 levels, for free, no strings attached. If you like it, and want more, you'll be able to purchase further level packs, each adding another 48 levels, a new region, new blocks, and many more new elements to the game. The first level pack, containing the desert region, will be available at launch, the next one is planned for October. Regular free updates, containing new features and other cool surprises, are also planned. So please make your voice heard, right here on Touch Arcade. We'll be more than happy to include your feedback into one of the upcoming updates. Anyway, I'll now let the game speak for itself, and hope you'll like it. Looking forward to your feedback!
Oh that sounds awesome then. I was worried about freemiums like toy shop which make you pay heaps to unlock the rest..think I paid about $15 to unlock toyshop! But 48 levels for free is incredible, and then buying In packs of 48 sound good too, I just hate when devs try to charge like 1.99 for 10 levels, and there's like 100 levels all up. When I like a game I want to buy it entirely, I can tell already this ones going to be a hit, been waiting for a couple months, looks insanely gorgeous, been looking for a game with this sort of art style for ages Kinda snesy and kinda yoshi story-ish And puzzlers are my fav genre, great art + puzzler = jackpot!
