I think it's timing as much as anything. The original Threes clone - 1024 came out about three weeks after Threes. That's just mean - and it stole the graphic style with the little animated emoticon faces.

But one thing it did introduce is a slightly different set of rules which is what the other clones seem to actually copy.

If enough time had passed then at some point we have to consider it a genre, but this was just too soon to give the original developers a fighting chance.

Ok, thanks for your reply. I'm a newbie in game development so it's hard for me to innovate new ideas. So I want to clone other games and make it better.

Well then you should start to choose your word more wisely. Think about your situation. You just cloned a game, you almost put no real effort in reskinning it, your game description is vague and you are calling it better than the original. Who's going to believe you? Not to mention that you are being disrespectful to the developer of Threes.

You just start making game, I understand you're probably finding it hard to gain attention and profit. Think of new ideas, maybe try making a free game with ads. Don't resort to cloning games, gamers will never take you seriously once you do that.

=>> HEY YOU! Why own an iPad if you haven't played CRABITRON? <<=

Playing: Corridor Z, Goblin Sword, Lost Toys, Duet Game, Layton Brother, Threes!, Solomon's Keep, Crabitron, Punch Quest, IB3, Sword & Sworcery (Recommend them all!)

Yeah seriously you just straight up cloned a game which has a lot of goodwill. Not going to end up well for you.
