Back in 2011, Future and Neon Play launched the ‘Design your own game’ competition searching for the next big idea for an iPhone game. And now the winning idea has just launched on to Apple’s App Store!

The champion idea, Rollerhog, was conceived by landlord Patrick Jamison and beat off hundreds of others to win this unique competition.

As the name suggests, the new game features a rolling hedgehog, which has to overcome playful obstacles such as pesky rabbits, snapping crocodiles and flowers that must be removed to clear the way.

Oli Christie, CEO of Neon Play, says: “The ‘Design your own game’ iPhone competition was tremendous fun for us in the studio. Everyone always claims they have a cool idea for an iPhone app, but Rollerhog is really special – it’s fantastic that we’ve been able to turn one reader’s dream into a reality and produce a game that will last forever and hopefully be a roaring success with mobile gamers.”

Talking of his winning idea, Patrick Jamison says: “It’s very exciting to win such a fantastic prize. I am a keen gamer, so it is particularly thrilling to able to design a game and see it go from a paper outline to a full-blown app on sale!”

Rollerhog is available to download for the iPhone and iPad on the App Store now - http://itunes.apple.com/app/rollerhog/id499217397?ls=1&mt=8.
