Which game is the next "Super Hexagon"?

So I recently got re-addicted to Super Hexagon.

Now I was wondering, are there any other quality games with a similar vibe?

I don't mean the specific rotating/dodging mechanic or art style. I talking about the game's overall feeling.

Graphics or story are unimportant, simple to play, fun and rewarding in short bursts, hard as hell but addictive, gameplay that tests reflexes and timing.

The only recent game that I'd say falls in this category is 1800. Any other upcoming games or already released games? Any games that could be called the "Super Hexagon" of 2013?

I wouldn't say it deserves such a title, but the recently released Slayin certainly plays something like that.

Actually I was interested in this game, but was hesitant when I saw the screenshots. The controls take up half the screen, and the area showing gameplay seems really small. Just seems off-putting and distracting

This will sound weird, but those that get it will totally understand.

The answer to your question is Melodive.

Check out Infinite. There's a free version: Infinite Prime.

    ^^^^ I like this answer :D

Melodive is about leveling up your skills, and responding to what the games is throwing at you.

If you're looking for a rewarding and challenging iOS game experience, Melodive is a great choice.

I must say I really like this thread! If anybody reads this and wants to check out Melodive, please pm me for promos. I've got quite a few after the last update. :) I put in some "donation"-IAP, so don't feel like you're taking advantage! ;) Also the latest version has this new Hyper-mode which is very "super hexagon"-like in essence. I personally like it a lot, as it is brutal!

Along with the aforementioned (and excellent) Melodive and Infinite, I'd recommend giving Bit Pilot a try. Gauge might also fit the bill.
