The Longtail Studio's version of the game offered a RPG like wrestling expierence while this is more like other Console Wrestling games. The Longtail Studios game was pulled over the contract expiring. And Namco has picked up this new version. Edit: Coming May 19th!!!!!
Really? Well color me shocked. A little sad to hear they're not continuing the Longtail Studio's "RPG" ish take on it, as I actually thought that one was pretty good. I'll be buying it without hesitation either way, but my hopes aren't really that high. I wonder if they'll let you overbook your brand into oblivion, just like the real TNA.
NOOOOO!!!!! Curse you, Namco!!!! Figures... they pull one of the best RPG's on the App Store, only to replace it with a typical wrestling game... *Sigh*
One would hope the buttons are easier to find than displayed in the video. But that was a preview build and not even close to the final product. So I'm still hoping for the best especially since the wwe games had a decent start but went nowhere.
WWE wrestling wld be better IMO. buy in app purchases of wrestlers n their themes, entrance song and gear!
Looks pretty cool. Obviously needed a bit of work back when the video was shot, but shows a lot of promise. The graphics and animations looked nice, and the character models looked good as well. The last TNA game was good at first--I liked that the storyline was pretty involved, and I liked the RPG elements--but overall the gameplay was very basic, the moves were limited and didn't really matter much, the combos didn't really make much sense in a "wrestling flow" type of way, most combos were punch, kick, repeat, then do a badly animated move, most finishers looked terrible, there was little match variety, there was no skill based gameplay, and you used the same basic strategy in every match (so to me it had little replay value). The last game was decent, but I'm glad to see the new game go in a more traditional direction. A deep storyline and RPG elements with more traditional gameplay (as shown in the video) would be great.

Well the app store is closed for new games till the 28th of December, so we can possibly expect this and wwe to release next week!
