gonna get an ipad?

Some developers have expressed interest in creating ipad games, but how many customers actually plan on buying an ipad?

I might but not until at least the second generation. Maybe it will include a camera then...

I have got the iPhone, don't see what the functions on the iPad I will use that I'm not getting with the iPhone just now.

iPad for gaming? I'd rather stick to the iPhone or PS3.

Yeah I will probably end up buying it. I reserved one for pickup at the apple store. Its just deciding whether I will get it at the apple store or Best Buy. Or whether I will get it at all. At least I have one saved in case I decide to.

Oh, 3, 3, 3. Neck and neck.

I selected maybe. My mum is getting one for her birthday, so I will try it out then.

I voted no way, It would be cool to have one but there's nothing in it I can't already do. If it was able to actually replace a laptop (usb ports, multitasking, full itunes) then maybe but for now, there is no way I am going to spend money to get one.

I think it could be an amazing piece of hardware for editing pixel art and composing music.

But I'm not convinced it'll have legs beyond the early adaptors. It would be ironic if the vast majority of people buying them were simply developers hoping to cash in on a new, less crowded market. Apple's already forcing developers to upgrade to Snow Lepoard MacOSX just to run the ipad simulator/sdk.

I'm still scratching my head to try and figure out who's going to buy one and why. I'd love to be proven wrong, but I don't really see it being that compelling for games. It's not nearly as portable as an ipod/iphone, so I expect most people will be using it in their homes. But if you're in your living room and hunger for a bigger display why not just use a console & tv?

If it fitted the netbook niche and had a stylus, but it doesn't even have a USB port.

Never. I'll stick with the iPad nano.

Or maybe a DS2 or PSP 2 depending how those turn out.
