What are the ways a thread can be locked? Because I haven't seen any rules or anything about that... Also, some threads seem to be locked once users start flaming, yet other threads that have users flaming aren't locked?

Some threads are locked when they get out of hand, and some are locked in the upcoming section (because the game is out).
I was thinking some mod would do that just for the fun of it. Also, it seems that threads aren't always locked in the upcoming game section. And also, No duh.
