If you like Agricola and/or Caylus, I strongly recommend Le Havre." - The Dish "5/5: Very compelling and rewarding." - GameZebo "4.5/5: if you're a fan of board games, you [...] owe it to yourself to pick this one up." - TouchArcade ==================== In this universal adaptation of the popular board game (winner of a 2009 International Gamers Award, among others), you can compete with up to 5 people — or against a computer's AI — to construct buildings and ships to support your shipping empire. An in-depth tutorial and hint system help you develop the strategy you will need to dominate the harbor. Collect resources to build and use new buildings, while paying your workers and saving up for ships. Buildings are a good investment, but ships provide necessary income. Deciding where to put your resources early on may determine your fate later in the game, so choose wisely! With no setup time required, no pieces to lose, and no arguments about the rules, the future of board games is here and Le Havre gives you exactly what you want — to play! Features ======== Universal app Supports 3 modes of play: - Solo play; solitaire or against varying degrees of AI difficulty - “Pass and play” with 2 to 5 local human players with or without AI - Turn-based multiplayer using Game Center Full tutorial and in-game hints Eye catching design and interactive game pieces using art from the original board game Create your own playlists from your iPod Note: you must have iOS 5.0+ on your device in order to play online! One of my favorites. javimm Member Jun 27, 2012 14 0 0 #14 javimm, Aug 21, 2012 I don't own any of these games, but being all on sale now at 0.79 , I'm considering buying one or two of them. What do you recommend?. I'm interested in: Le Havre, Medici, Ra, Tigris & Euphrates, Tikal. Don't know if there are other games worth considering. I own an iPad and an iPhone, if that matters. Thanks. kzwen Well-Known Member Jun 25, 2010 1,345 0 0 #15 kzwen, Aug 21, 2012 Outta your choices I wouldn't pick Medici. javimm Member Jun 27, 2012 14 0 0 #16 javimm, Aug 21, 2012 Last edited: Aug 21, 2012 Thanks. I'm leaning towards buying only one, as I have other app purchases in mind that are quite expensive (a couple music apps from Jordan Rudess, 8 € each) and have some games I've bought that I have to finish before I consider buying some more (Ascension, Magic 2013, Herry Potter 1-4 and 5-7,...). Add that Baldur's Gate is being released in september. Too many apps, little time and even less money. So if I wanted to buy only one, which is the "absolute" classic and best of the bunch?. Tigris and Euphrates seems to be very well regarded. EDITED TO ADD: Le Havre is very high on Boardgamegeek list too. Tikal and Ra a bit lower. Agas Well-Known Member Jan 28, 2011 2,347 0 0 #17 Agas, Aug 21, 2012 Get Le Havre if you want only one. I like Medici and T&E next and Ra and Tikal are my least favorites. javimm Member Jun 27, 2012 14 0 0 #18 javimm, Aug 21, 2012 Thanks. I'm going to buy Le Havre and T&E. Cheers.
