Didn't buy it, because that flashing makes me all dizzy just by watching the video (good he put it in the description). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qZBb2fIykNI The gameplay seems very intriguing to me, so my question would be: is there a toggle off option for that flashing? Unusual Cadence Member Nov 15, 2015 12 0 0 http://www.unusualcadence.com #4 Unusual Cadence, Nov 26, 2015 Hi all! Someone's made this thread so I don't have to Hopefully I can help out! I tried to make the game as colourblind friendly as I could with assistance from some friends, however it's been a tricky game to balance in that regard! I will make sure to improve this area in an update and add a colourbind option if it's helpful! If there's any pointers you could give that would make it easier to read, please let me know There isn't currently a toggle for it, but I'll make sure one goes in as soon as possible! Possibly even as an intensity slider so it can be toned down to whatever degree is desired. I like the slider idea, fitting to everyone. As soon as i see the update i'll buy the game. Edit: i consider this my worst week this year (because of thanksgiving?) and i haven't bought one premium game. But, against all odds and to my big surprise, i received a $3 refund on a not fully working iap. Well, i re-invested in your game as a little motivation and support. The next (cheap) drink's on me, lol. Edit: very responsive controls and i can see me getting hooked on this highscore chaser. But not with this lightning, and i'm only on the first level with 120 bpm or flashing-pm. I definitely need to check out the video and the tips, because the in-game tutorial doesn't tell me why a blue tile disappears all the sudden and a yellow comes up (and what does that)...some like that. Really confusing for me, and maybe you reconsider a much more informative and slower tutorial. Also, and you might call it art, but the (too) big writing might look great but is so inconvenient to read. Also, it's super addictive. Great job! Unusual Cadence Member Nov 15, 2015 12 0 0 http://www.unusualcadence.com #8 Unusual Cadence, Nov 27, 2015 Glad to hear that you're having fun, and more importantly that the colors aren't causing any issues! I was thinking of adding a 'palette lock' feature that would keep each level locked to the same red/blue/flashing yellow palette as an option, which would be quite straightforward to implement. As an aside, Pocket Gamer have reviewed the game giving it 8/10, which I'm very chuffed with http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/r/iPhone/Square+Rave/review.asp?c=68414 Unusual Cadence Member Nov 15, 2015 12 0 0 http://www.unusualcadence.com #9 Unusual Cadence, Nov 29, 2015 @Qwertz555: Ah, thank you so much for the support! It's very much appreciated I'm working on the 'intensity' settings that should help make it less dizzyficating - the slider below controls the background 'pulsing' and the white flash at the end of every bar of music: Also adding in the above-mentioned 'palette lock' before the weekend ends to the same menu (with room for anything else that might be requested), so it should be patched in pretty soon! Totally understand the tutorial woes, you'd not believe how many revisions I went through to try and convey all the mechanics! I'll probably slow the speed of it down further as it can kind of whizz by a bit. Cheers! Finally i can agree, because i invested a straight and intense forty minutes to learn the game (my headache will be gone tomorrow, lol). Oh, and yeay, i'm totally hooked...though, i'm still a little bit confused what exactly is going on with my snaket(r)ail sometimes. Is it possible that this beat-bar cancels some parts of my trail here and there? And yet, i managed to get third on GC. Not a big achievement since there are only a few people on board atm. Besides the flashing (thanks for working that out) i want to point out another issue i have: the very delayed high-lightning of a save blue tile. This circumstance hinders me going a bit more risk-reward route, feeling handcuffed. Can you understand what i'm talking about? I don't know if changing to an immediate high-light would unbalance the algorhythm with the bar, the cyclus and the score...? Edit: i forgot this, maybe, little helping tip: once you're on a save blue tile, you can lift your finger/stylus and search for the next blue tile. It will obscure the screen on the iphones here and there. Ipad mini and up might get you better results, though the drawing path is also bigger and might "hurt" your precious finger, lol. J.R. Here's a changelog: * Added 'Settings' menu with controls for changing the intensity/disabling the full-screen flashing effects. * Added an option to lock the palette to a single colour scheme. * Fixed 133.33ms delay before the 'you're safe on this square' visual appears! * Improved visuals for blue squares appearing on the playfield. * Black Squares no longer flash when 'inverted'. * Slowed tutorial down to 80 BPM * Local high scores and achievements are sent to GameCenter when the game starts.
