I am wondering if there is any way I can get Monster Hunter to install on my Ipad 2 even though it isn't compatible? Any help would be appreciated :)

If it's not compatible then obviously not.

That's like trying to run a PC game that requires 4gb ram on a 2gb ram system. It just won't work and to be honest even if you did manage somehow to get it installed on an ipad2 it would be so slow it would be totally unplayable.

"Device requirements including a camera and auto-focus. That's why it is working on an iPad Mini 1st Gen which has auto-focus but it isn't working on an iPad 2. You will have to delete this line(s) inside the info.plist file to be able to install it on your device.

    - download it on your PC using iTunes
    - open the downloaded IPA file with WinRAR
    - search for the info.plist file inside the /payload/mhunite.app/ folder
    - open it, scroll to the end of file and search for
    <string>auto-focus-camera</string> and <string>front-facing-camera</string>.
    - completely delete these two lines
    - save the file, close WinRAR and install the app through iTunes."

Got this from Nekku from the review comments on the front page

Ye I've posted this and it's the usual way to make devices compatible which arent supported due to hardware restrictions.
The problem is, it get stuck after finishing the installation part. I still try to find out what is causing this.
    Sry :/

Oh, you can install it with ifunbox just fine haha
No need to modify the plist. Just download it from itunes and install with ifunbox.
Takes some time to install though.

    Cheers!

Ifunbox worked for me. Monster hunter runs fine on my ipad 2. Thanks Nekku!

I just used the latest free ifunbox. Didn't know there was a pro version.

    1. Buy Monster Hunter with iTunes on the computer
    2. Connect your iPad to your computer
    3. Open ifunbox
    4. Select "User Applications" (not sure this is even necessary anymore)
    5. Click "install app" from the toolbar
    6. Select the Monster Hunter ipa file
    7. Wait for the install to finish
    8. Play Monster Hunter!

For step 6. If you don't know where the ipa file is, just right-click the Monster Hunter app in iTunes and click on "Show in finder"

Does the ifunbox install get stuck in the last 2 seconds of installing Monster Hunter? Mine's just hanging there.

    *UPDATE*

Never mind. It finally finished. Wow, this sucker is bigger than the advertised 750 megs!

Curious as to what disadvantages come with installing MHFU to the iPad 2? Is there anything that doesn't work properly, or anything down the road that might screw up the game play (possibly unknown this early in the release)? I understand it's not supported, but is it worth my investment (hehe)?

    Screwed?

    Hey All

    IOS gaming newbie here

I tried to grab both Orc Vengeance and Monster Hunter Freedom Unite IOS off the Itunes store as I read they are two of the best IOS games, the problem is Orc Vengeance has disappeared and Monster Hunter Freedom Unite comes back with 'not compatible with your device' when I try to buy it.
Having read the thread I grabbed Ifunbox but I am stumped because the store won't let me buy the game.

Any ideas as to what I can do?

Also, I am trying to get my head around Ifunbox, do I install the app on my IPAD via ITunes or via my PC which then uploads the games to my IPAD 2?

    Many thanks

(owns an IPAD2 and Ocean Horn)

Orc Vengeance isnt on the app store anymore so you wont be able to get that.

If you look on the first page of this thread it explains how you could possibly get Monster Hunter. But it via itunes (not your ipad 2) and then go from there

iFunbox is a program you install on your PC, you then connect up your ipad and try to add the game that way. But looking at the first page of this thread you have to change certain things on the file.
