After playing robot unicorn attack- it is evident that the music is part of the er 'thrill' of the appeal of the game, and the same for cannabalt.

So who are your contenders of best ingame music?

    Mine would be:
    Cannabalt- 'run'
    Robot unicorn attack- Erasure- 'Always'
    And also: Little runner

    alea iacta est
    Space miner and/or Reckless Racing.

In all seriousness, Bug Heroes music just rocks. As does Zen Bound 2's.

    My uber awesome soundtracks list:

Canabalt- Retro-y, computery, yet energetic and complex, it's a great track that adds to Canabalt's intense, addictive, fast gameplay...

Zen Bound- More of an atmospheric jumble of fancy instruments, about half the feel of the classic game is generated by the bassy, windy music.

Eliss- This little-heard-of indie game boasts a relaxing yet cheerul, sad and nostalgic tune that gives a new deep perspective to it.

Space Miner- It's just a really fun collection of music, combining stereotypical Southern style banjo riffs and rock.

Spider: The Secret of Bryce Manor- Considered when in came out in 2009 as the masterpiece of the iPhone, the cult classic comes with a really, really well done, creative and immersive soundtrack that is perfectly in sync with the whole artistic and mysterious feel of the Game of the Year. Muy bien.

Hurdle Turtle, Thumpies, Beat It!, So Long Oregon, Magnetic Shaving Derby, and for some reason I like the rock radio station in Driver.
Also, here's some non-iphone (hopefully going to be released for the iphone) music that's uber awesome (from Phoenix Wright 2): HERE

Space Miner / Chaos Rings / Wesnoth / Monkey Island / Yipe! 5 (INSANELY retro, but I love it) / Osmos (perfect for its gameplay) / THPS 2 etc.

    My the-best-of list:

Space Miner - one of those games I play with higher volume on headphones just for the brilliant music
Heroes of Kalevala - bgm in this game is a work of art, and the track from the last village gives me goosebumps everytime I hear that beautiful voice
    Sparkle
    Space Monkey
    Starpagga - great energy-pumping music
    Cube Runner
    Sentinel 2
Solomon's Keep and Boneyard - those games wouldn't be that good without the music
iBlast Moki - music is simple and perfect for the overall graphics style
Fragger - more like a mix of calm music and ambient sounds but I love it
Rhythm Spirit - some of the tracks
    Tilt to Live
    Time Geeks
Ocarina with me blowing into the microphone ;D

and all of those games with chiptunes music.

Anyone remember the Rolando series, back when ngmoco didn't suck? I really liked the soundtrack, and it was a good thing Rolando 2 had a mode where you could listen to the music.

^^^ I second the hook series!

My uber awesome soundtracks list (edited, sorry for accidental double post):

Canabalt- Retro-y, computery, yet energetic and complex, it's a great track that adds to Canabalt's intense, addictive, fast gameplay...

Zen Bound- More of an atmospheric jumble of fancy instruments, about half the feel of the classic game is generated by the bassy, windy music.

Eliss- This little-heard-of indie game boasts a relaxing yet cheerul, sad and nostalgic tune that gives a new deep perspective to it.

Super Quick Hook- Well, one song stood out the most: The song that plays on the Winding Cave level (I think!), which is super mellow and cool with keyboard and saxophone spices mixed in. So awesome...

Space Miner- It's just a really fun collection of music, combining stereotypical Southern style banjo riffs and rock.

Thumpies- The whole game is revolved around the super catchy, innovative, abstract beats.

Magnetic Shaving Derby: I don't know why... but I think the music's just genius. Listen to it.

Rolando 1: A jazzy, lively soundtrack full of catchy spots, it captures the colorful and fun essence of the classic Rolando series and provides even more reason to play it.

World of Tunes has some great music, my favorite being "Bumblebee Master" in the extra song list.

Pix 'n Love Rush and its awesome retro soundtrack.

Steam Pirates has a nice variety of tunes that fits the game very well.

    Red Conquest

    Yslandia
