I just has a scroll through the App Store & saw a game called "Sand Castle Maker" at No. 44 in games, priced at $2.99. (There's also a thread on TA which hasn't attracted much interest). Now, it may or may not be a work of brilliance, but the 30-or-so reviews suggest otherwise. On further investigation, the developer has another 50 games on sale (many free & with similar names eg 'Pizza Maker & 'Cupcake Maker'). So, I'm guessing they've pushed their game to this position through in-app cross-promotion It's maybe good that it works but it's annoying that it works this well.
I never get those apps. What were the other ones? Omelet maker? Crap like that. Look, just go buy some ingredients and make a damn cupcake. You can get a decent mix for <$2.99!
