Because I've taken notice of this one I decided to try Power Jewels as well. Look to be both pretty good games.

They did an update on the game and added some GC Achievements. I love that they did this, but I think they've missed the boat a little bit.

Almost everyone of the achievements are just the "more points" and "more levels" type. For example, "Reached Level 20", "Reached Level 50", "Reached Level 75", etc.. That's okay but I'm a big fan of the wacky ones.

I like things like the "Bingo" achievement where you got a five letter word all in a row, but I would love to see more of those.

How about a "Word to your Mother" achievement just for spelling both "Word" and "Mother". Or a "Last Gasp" for using your last Power Jewel on the last move. Or a "Palindrome" award for making a palindrome.

I had already unlocked every achievement you had put up (other than the higher point and level ones) by the time you added. It was cool to see them all come raining down on me all at once, but not all I have left is higher scores and levels.

I hate to sound all whiney, because I love the game and really love the extra modes that are in this version, but you've spoiled me.

Oh... and I would gladly pay to have the ads removed. They don't bug me too much to have them there, but occasionally I've accidentally touched one and I'm sent to a web site. I'd love to avoid that... and I'd be happy to pay you for the privilege of continuing a great game.

QuickWit - great ideas on the varied achievements. Indeed the current achievement set seems, um, played out as they were intended to be there from day one and not just show up in a big blast of "look at what you already did!" :-)

Any ideas on the kinds of achievements that could go with any of the new game modes?

IAP is on the "someday" list, but I haven't gotten there yet...

I will give some thought to the extra achievements, but I did think that a cool new mode would involve a time limit. It could either be a do what you can in a minute, or possibly give people ways to earn more time. For instance you could give more seconds for longer words. 4 seconds for a four letter word, 7 for a five letter word, etc..

It wouldn't revolutionize the word game industry, but it would give another mode that would be fun to play...

Maybe you can add that in with a paid version. Pay a small fee, get a new level and no ads. I'd be way down for that!

An update for taller iPhone 5 screens is in development!

It seems to be kind of a trick to support the new taller screen while also keeping apps running on old hardware, but the plan is for Word Jewels 2 to keep running on anything from original iPhone 2Gs up to iPhone 5s!
