The color pallet used for the backgrounds is nearly the same as what is used for sprites. I'm having the damndest time making out bullets amd enemies, because the background uses nearly the same colors and is very "busy". This isn't a small quibble I have; I can barely play with any skill because I'm constantly confused as to what I's shooting/avoiding...an enemy? bullets? background? Etc.
I don't have any trouble distinguishing what's what in Cave games. Can anyone tell me if Storm Strikers has a little less seizure inducing flashing then Danmaku, and address the issues I raised?
Well, personally I think the bullets stand out a bit more in SS as the game has a broader palette of colors, now the lasers are a different story and may take you some getting used to. However, I never really had much trouble with that issue in DU and I suppose it depends a lot on the particular player's vision. You should be able to answer the question for yourself though by trying the lute version or watching the gameplay video.
