This looks really fun! Can´t wait for it to be released! The music is great, the art looks fun and cartoony! May I ask you how you guys made the trailer? Because I´m developing a game myself, and have yet to find a recurring software that records with little or no lag! What software do you use, are you using some kind of "reflecting" software also? Well, was an awesome trailer and hopefully you´ll get the game out this month! Good luck, /Seb
Glad to hear that you like it! We did the trailer using the Adobe Creative Cloud. The game assets used to generate the animation frames were done in Illustrator. Those assets were imported into After Effects where the animation was done and that was then imported into Premiere with the gameplay video where they were combined, edited and exported. There is a really great workflow called Dynamic Link between After Effects and Premiere I would recommend reading up on. You can get the entire Creative Cloud package these days for $75-$50 a month depending on the package you choose. As far as recording the gameplay footage, we also struggled for a long time (including one very special attempt where we tried to balance an iPhone on a clear ruler suspended between two boxes recording our fingers playing Darkin on the iPad, yikes!) before we found THE perfect solution for iOS (requires a Mac though). It's called Reflector. It uses AirPlay and lets you record whatever you see with sound on your iDevice directly to your Mac. It's a great deal for $12! Hope this helps and if you have any questions feel free to message us.
Thanks a lot guys for the answer and for being cool! Really looking forward to the game. Cheers, /Seb
So today I got the chance to try out this beautiful gem that is Darkin! After just a few minutes I was totally hooked up! The graphics, the music and the sounds are all so good! This will most deffo be a buy! Love it
Could this be my replacement of Dungeon Raid? Have high hopes for it. Dungeon Raid feels a bit... old.
We are in the final stages of bug squashing and polishing the game and expect to submit very soon. Glad to hear that you are excited about Darkin!
Looking forward to this as well. Since nobody's asked yet, I was wondering about IAPs and all that jazz (paying to remove ads if the game's free and has ads is usually my 'favorite' IAP option). Regardless, good luck with the launch and I hope to play soon!
JCho133's answer was exactly correct! $2.99 with no IAPs what-so-ever. Everything in the game (clans, abilities, modes, passive skills) can only be unlocked by simply playing the game =D. We just got all of the launch languages implemented (English, German, French, Italian, Spanish) and hope to be submitting within the next few days. We're glad to hear everyone's excitement! Soon it shall be on your devices and in your hands =D.
