Haha, my thoughts as well. I picked out the word strategy and RPG from the description, then tried to match it to the screenshots But came up bemused.
Knowing Warner and the way they've been doing mobile games, it probably features cards and limited gameplay. But we won't be sure until someone plays it
So.... Unless this is more of a hack n slash type action rpg, isn't it just injustice? Gives off that vibe?
Strategy rpg with DC characters... Pretty interesting. If this has PVP i hope IAPs dont influence the battles. It's freemium, so anything can happen, both good and bad.
Well most attacks are always 1v1 in srpgs on a given attack turn. It may be possible these are battle animation screenshots. Im more interested to see more GUI though. EDIT: wow, that double space dot in my previous post kinda made me sound like an ass. LOL
It's so so. Frankly it is like a cookie cutter game, nothing new or original. It's like a comic Heroes Charge or something similar. I'm probably going to delete it.
I don't really know but the timing (it was out before midnight in New Zealand) made me think that this is a Soft Launch. I'll edit the thread when/if it's out in Australia (which would mean that this isn't a Soft Launch).
It's been in a closed public beta test since around April or so (74 days) so it's relatively safe to assume it's the full international release. Or at least that is my understanding of it. There may also have been a late change of plan and someone decided on a soft launch but to my knowledge, all the necessary testing has been completed and a soft launch deemed unnecessary.
So wait, what is the gameplay? Turned-based old-school team-on-team everyone-stands-in-one-place-and-launches-attacks style, or tactical like a Fire Emblem? Edit: downloading myself to find out. I could really go for a classic turned-based comic book RPG in the fashion of Avengers Alliance that actually works.
Oh man, it is a turned-based old-school team-on-team everyone-stands-in-one-place-and-launches-attacks. Skill cooldowns and everything. Everyone has a basic attack and some specials. Fighting big waves of enemies followed by a boss. Looks like this could be cool. There's about a million different currencies. Energy system. You purchase and open up card packs to get characters - I pulled Harley Quinn right away. Zatana plays a major role in the game, which is really cool to see. She's using her powers to summon new characters (heroes and villains, teaming up to stop a greater threat as is the standard of all these games) There's an auto-battle button which seems to do a decent job of attacking in a logical way. Text is impossible to read because it is so small :-\
