FACEOFF SHIPS THIS FRIDAY!! I think you're going to love the gameplay with Faceoff. We've spent the most of our time working on a formula that we think will provide a fresh, fun take on the genre. That formula starts with gameplay, including optimizing around all of the iPhone's controls (touch, gestures, tilt – we'll have options here), weapon selection (there will be 8 fun ones for both range and melee… and your enemies have them too!), and varied campaign content that's fully roamable/interactive. To answer a couple questions, this is a single-player focused game as we wanted to focus on getting out a great campaign-driven game first. We will have frequent updates with additional content that you help determine. First update will also include leaderboards. We are working on additional content and multiplayer, but will be looking for more specific feedback in these areas when the game ships this Friday... Some Screens - UPDATED 9/15 to show tilt and touch controls: Game footage: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0q1IVaySXao Some of the weapons you'll be enjoying: ... and my personal favorite - the Wee Willy Nuke (explosion takes up the whole screen... and then some!):
yup, video works now. looks sweet, maybe needs some more graphical tweaking but it has a lot of potential adding a virtual d-pad = +1
Great. Thanx for getting my thread locked. Thats 4 devs getting my thread locked by posting their own new threads in last couple of days Anyways the game does look great and cant wait for it to come out. Will be an Insta buy@ 99cents
This game looks really good, but it seriously needs multiplayer. Just look at this game, its screaming "MULTIPLAYER TPS!" Looks good. For a buck Im going to end up getting sucked in
Yes, I read that article already. I was referring to updated info if it has ACTUALLY gone. Let's not forget that there was a time when 'Rogue Planet' was to be submitted in a couple of weeks back in May / June - Then a while later the bomb dropped that it was going to be September sometime. There have been quite a few others as well.
Update All - we submitted the game last week, so it's now in Apple's black box. Decided in the end that two control systems were required, so we spent time on that before shipping 1.0. Submitted version has a campaign mode. Version 1.1 (done this week) will have leaderboard/challenges through Scoreloop's system. Based on feedback, we're thinking of 'enhancing' the main character visually and possibly functionally: considering a droid version, more of an 'organic' version, and a 'power-up' version. Voting on that this weekend here on TA. We've certainly heard you on multiplayer. We are testing feasibility at this point (eg: "keep the !@#$ latency low!"). Don't want to commit on that prematurely, just a quick note to say that we hear you on this. If it works right in stress conditions, we will focus on that for 1.2. If not, well, let's just say that player character/optional play mode stuff (survival/defend-the-flag/etc) that's on the docket will get more of a look... We think it's really important to not over commit, so all I can share are the current facts as we get them. More to come. Thanks to all for their interest.
whenever i see this thread....it just reminds me of that one movie with john travolta called.....face/off.haha game looks pretty sweet by the way...
