DM1 for iPhone is out at a 99c introductory price. The devs are working on midi and the ability to make your own kits/samples. But it does have WIST so highly recommended even if you have the iPad version already.

^ Thanks for the headsup, chris1a, and for the important technical hint! Highly recommended classic vintage drum machine.

I have the iPad version since months and I am using it much. Tried the shiny new iPhone & iPod touch version (iPhone 4): Very good UI for the small devices. Sounds identically. Cool graphics. Easy to control, you don't need to be a musician. Simply use the randomizer function and take it or skip to the next. But even usable for profs of course. Fast loading times.

All electric musicians should have it! Don't miss the sale, folks!

Have a short but impressive demo video at the dev's website, put on your good headphones:

    It's so… mobile!

Bought Meteor Multitrack last night and a bunch of IAP plugins. A bit pricey at $40 something (by AppStore standards) but so far really happy with it. Kinda like the first Reason, one synth, one multi-sampler, one drum machine and a bunch of FX. Plus audio tracks of course. All of wich you can use however you want over 12 stereo tracks (with freeze, bounce, mixdown etc if 12 isn't enough or if you use more fx etc then your iPad can handle). Really hope they can continue to evolve this app with more instruments/synths/effects, I never really see it on the top charts anywhere soo...

I (finally) recently bought Nanostudio which is so awesome.. seeing how great it immediate dropped another fiver on the extra tracks IAP :)

Also bought DM1 when it came out and it was okay for a buck, but I wasn't too impressed and have already deleted it. A buck better spent was ThumbJam when it went on for a steal-price of 99 cents.

Now I am counting the days till the new BeatMaker 2 update which is according to the improvement list should be excellent.

Also I am considering buying the relatively new iRig Midi for my keyboard.. anyone bought this and can share experiences?

I read that the devs behind Auria are working really hard on implementing midi and bringing onboard VSTi devs/companies so they can release their VSTi synths on iOS via Auria. Anyway bought it yesterday because of what seem to be a long term commitment from the company behind Auria. Awesome DAW. Definatly my DAW of choice on ios. Also bought some IAP plugins, the THM plugin and the ProQ EQ. The ProQ is $30 but really worth it, there's no way anyone would need more bands/functions etc in an EQ for iOS. All in all a bit pricey, relatively speaking. But if you need a daw either to record into or audio copy/paste from other apps and want the best effects and mastering suit Auria is it.

chris1a, have you had a chance to try out Magellan? I'm tempted, but really want to know what separates it (sound-wise) from the others out there.

Yea I've tried it very briefly. It definatly sounds good and is up there with Addictive, Sunrizer etc (might just be all the effect heavy sounds tho;). What separates it is having two synth engines either running separately or at the same time, and the way you can interact with it. Standard keyboard or touchpad ala Animoog (or both) with a bunch of different scales, running arp and/or a full pattern sequencer. Plus a big x/y pad. So it's alot of fun to use and is def designed for a touchscreen so it's easy to get some cool stuff recorded. Dunno if it's really a must-have for the sounds if you have Sunrizer and so on, but it is an intro price so if 4.99 doesn't brake ur wallet I'd get it.

Don't update your Animoog just yet. There's a bug that affects at least the iPad version and it will just show the splash screen and crash back to the homescreen. Could be related to either IAP or custom presets. Either way wait!

Yep. Already updated Animoog and fails to load. :( The app description now says I need to uninstall and reinstall to fix. I'll need to find my Luftrum soundset before I do anything which should still be on my local hard drive.

I looked more into Magellan and looks/sounds GREAT! Already having several of the other analog synths out there I have become wary of purchasing yet another one, but this one DOES seem to have some unique things and a different kind of sound to it.

    Here are some videos
    Official Yonac Software video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ST04HAAm2EM

    Jordan Rudess video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bY0OMreATR4
Has some 70's Tangerine Dream feel to some of the sounds.
