@simpleinteractive : users who download the game with promo code can't give reviews on appstore as far as I remember. Anyway, cool game! Congrats!

Implemented landscape/scrolling and better controls

Dear All

In response to your advice (many thanks!) I've now added an option to play the game in landscape mode with scrolling. I've also allowed the user to manually reposition the controls as needed.

Here is a video of how it works

I will upload to the App Store shortly...

Updated on App Store

Following your comments you should now have a new version of Nebula Retro. Please check for updates. The improvements are:

* Can play in landscape mode (with scrolling)
* Can manually position controls
* ZX Spectrum fonts!

Please let me know how you get on!

Think its better but the jumping is still messed up.

I mean if theres a gap on the right i should just be able to press right and then jump. Instead theres two jump buttons, jump left/jump right, and to jump over the gap i have to press jump right, then right as well as its a wide gap.

Its good you can play landscape and adjust the controls but look at the 1000's of platformers out there. Theres just one jump button, just like manic miner/sonic/mario, you should simply press right and then jump, not jump and then right.

Think you have to solve that issue 100%

Well at least going in the right direction!

I intend to add a 3 button control option in the next release (and probably make this the default for iPhone). I thought about doing it on this release but the landscape/scrolling thing took longer than I thought so I decided to get this release out as soon as possible.

So I will have these as defaults:

iPhone, iPod: Landscape, 3 button, controls split
iPad: Portrait, 4 button, controls split

Of course the user can change however s/he likes.

I hope you will also try the Christmas graphics!

I've uploaded a new version to Apple with option for 3-button controls (left, right, jump). The new release features improved graphics and a host of improvements! Look out for it!

It's here. Nebula Retro with 3 button controls

I'm delighted to announce the latest release of Nebula Retro. I have implemented 3 button controls (left/right/jump) as an option so please try these out. The graphics has also been much improved as you can see. Please try the game (again) and let me know how you get on
