Weddar is a free weather report service powered by people, a crowdsourced approach to weather, if you will. I've been visiting touchArcade since the beggining, and while this is not the usual type of stuff that is posted on the blog, I thought it might be appreciated in this part of the Forum. Plus, Weddar, while being a weather app mainly, does have some game elements But more on that later. Basically Weddar it enables everyone with an iPhone or an iPod Touch to do their own location-based weather reports and request weather information in places where the old weather report services usually give general or unreliable information. For example, instead of the usual machine-based weather reports telling you “New York, 96 Degrees, NE Wind, 80% humidity”, in Weddar you have real people letting you know that “It feels great” while resting from a jogging session in Central Park, or “It feels Good but windy” near the river. If you happen to find that there’s no information there yet, you can make a “Weddar Request” and other people using Weddar will fill that weather information you’ve requested. So more on the game part: everytime you make a Report, you get 1 point. Filling a Request someone else made, gives you 2 Points.
