I can't imagine why they'd be there otherwise. You might as well just download the "actual" free version, which is supposed to have ads, then pay $0.99 to remove them. At least then you're doing straight business. Edit: Just downloaded it myself and noticed it actually has a "Remove Ads" option, which suggests they're permanent.
