It feels more cute than epic to me (no offense!) and it tickles my RPG sensor. Could you elaborate on the combat system (turn by turn i guess?), the story, etc ? Do you have visuals outside of combat ? There's a job system in there, right ? Do you plan to do a lite version ? Too much crappy rpgs out there to buy it eyes closed...
The story is that your world, Arcadia, is dying. You must defeat a counsel of 6 dragons to save the planet. The game is what I like to refer to as a "casual" RPG. It is casual in the fact that you can exit at any point, and resume right where you left off when you re-launch. Load times are very minimal to non existent. Also, the consequences of death is pretty minimal. You start by creating your character (there are 3 save slots). The main screen outside of battle is a quest hub. You have a list of quests available to you, and the game progresses when you complete them.
Interesting... It looks pretty good. I really like the character designs. I think I'll look forward to this one.
About time a turn based RPG came out, can't wait to get my hands on it! Looks really fun, and kind of reminds me of games like AdventureQuest.
Yeah it does have an AdventureQuest feel to it. looks like alot of character options as well. Do you have any gameplay videos?
So if I gather correctly, there will be no "overworld wandering" per se? If so, that could be kind of cool. It's nice every once in a while to be able to focus on the battle part of an RPG and not have to worry about trying to remember where you're at in the scheme of things.
That is correct, just a quest hub. I played around with an "overworld", but I didn't like how it felt on the iPhone. I have played with a notion of a menu driven map, with designated areas to do battle, but it didn't make it into the game. Maybe a future update .
Looks really cool. Any guess on a date yet? I might hold off till a sale but its on my list. Or is that the intro price?
I think you should make it like adventure quest where it's not only a quest hub but you don't walk around
