App description: Astro Duel is a competitive local multiplayer game for iPad.

Inspired from endless nights of Super Bomberman, rounds are quick and death is sudden. 2 to 4 players blast each other using asteroid-style ships. The goal: KILL KILL KILL!!

=== Feature List ===

10 DYNAMIC ARENAS
Rich, varied arenas provide a host of hiding places and hazards. Use barriers and asteroids as cover. Avoid turrets, death beams, and black holes or you're dead.

MULTIPLE GAME MODES
Battle for the most kills in Headhunters, outlast your opponents in Pilot Execution, or join forces in Team Deathmatch.

DEVASTATING POWERUPS
Ships can be armed with offensive and defensive pickups including missiles, lasers, jousters and shields. Race to collect powerups to give yourself an edge or blast powerup-greedy opponents before they reach their prize.

iPAD CONTROLS
Up to 2 players can pilot their ships using just an iPad. No controllers required.

iPHONES AS CONTROLLERS
Pilot your ship wirelessly using an iPhone or iPod Touch (with the free Joypad app). By using just one iPhone, three players can play simultaneously. Connect more iPhones for more players.

GAMEPAD SUPPORT
Play with Bluetooth iOS 7 Controllers like the SteelSeries Stratus. Also supports iCade-compatible controllers and GameDock.

COMPUTER PLAYERS
Add any combination of AI ships. Practice solo against computer-controlled players, mix up free-for-alls, or battle Human vs Machine in a Team Deathmatch. Includes two levels of difficulty.

VARIANTS
Mix up play with a variety of game variants. Start every round with a specific Powerup. Add more asteroids or remove them entirely. Enable or disable fixed spawn, winner's mini-game, friendly fire, autobalance, start with shield and more.

Version 1.0.1 hit the App Store last night:

Improved random level algorithm. Random levels are now picked in a randomized "round-robin" fashion.

Also fixed a bug where screenshake would not work.

I'm quite excited to announce Astro Duel 1.2 is out! The biggest change is a new game mode:

Pilot Execution Mode

Previously in Astro Duel, the pilots had no effect on gameplay. They were merely helpless survivors. Onlookers on a battle they had already lost. This all changes in Pilot Execution mode. Instead of earning points by shooting down other ships, points are awarded in Pilot Execution mode by shooting or running over enemy pilots.

Pilots also have a means of escape. Each is equipped with a thruster. If you find yourself without a ship, hold down the thrust button to take flight. If you can survive long enough, your ship will respawn!

This totally changes the gameflow. Players shot down now have a second chance. Kills can be stolen. Some of the best Astro Duel moments Ive witnessed were watching pilots desperately trying to escape as an opponent ship chases them down. At any second theyll either be run over or revive and perhaps turn the tables.

Additional Changes

- Improved ship, pilot and debris collisions
- Removed 8 frame firing delay from player ships.
- Added ship shake during kill freeze
- Slightly increased kill freeze
- Increased size of proximity mines
- Reduced total rounds to win for most game modes
- Decreased the aim accuracy of easy CPUs

It's out now on the App Store for iPad and Mac.

Hope you like it!
