Newborn game company, Moon Shepherd, is soon to be launching Poker Invaders and we are putting the call out for awesome beta testers.

You prolly like Space Invaders right?
What about Tetris?... everyone likes Tetris….
And Poker too?
And loads of amazing graphics and fun features?
We know, we know… unbelievable…. a lethal combination… but wait, there’s more….
Let us set the scene for you:

You are a supercool farmer, loved by your herd.

The skies are filling with UFOs from a cruel and distant poker-lovin’ galaxy.

Then the first abduction…

A palpable wave of dread washes across the farmyard.

The animals are looking to you to defend them: Lucky for them you were born with a rebellious vigilante streak and some seriously smooth poker potential.

To defeat these poker-lovin' aliens and protect your precious cows, your only weapon is the strength of your poker hands!

Flick your cards up in strong combinations and watch the aliens explode.

BUT WHATEVER YOU DO, don't let the UFOs touch down to Earth.... or they’ll take your cows to a place that just is not fit for any animal (and they might just take you with them).

ANTICIPATED FEATURES

• Retina Display Support
• Defend 8 different breeds of cow to work your way up to the highest level and protect the very rare holy cows
• Various memorable catchphrases such as: “Feel my power”, “I have the big heart” and “On yer bike” from illustrious poker champion Tony G to keep you motivated during combat
• Shiny old school bombs to blow up UFOs
• Benevolent slow down snails give you more time to compose your hand
• Battle takes place within an array of beautiful farmyard settings
• Magnificent day-to-night background with bright sun, full moon, spectacular sunset and twinkling night stars

Poker Invaders is accessible to all levels of player, but also provides a depth of gameplay that challenges your strategic thinking and quick reactions. Show off your poker prowess to your friends using the game centre support facilities: are you a fish, grinder, shark or high rolla?

In your email just tell us:

1. Your nickname in the Touch Arcade forum
2. What device you are using (need to be using one of these: iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPod 1st gen, iPod 2nd gen, iPod 3rd gen, iPod 4th gen)
3. What iOS version you are on (to get version number: look in settings->general->about)
4. Your device id (UDID) – we need this to be able to send you the game
5. If you use Game Center
6. If you use OpenFeint

All testers will receive the game they are testing. Beta Testers have full rights to use and discuss our game in their blogs, forums and review sites.

Thanks for all your emails We are really excited about getting Poker Invaders out to our testers this Wednesday.

If you haven't applied to test the game yet but would like to, there's still time... gotta be quick though cos applications close on Tuesday 28th Dec.

And you definitely don't need to be able to play poker to be one of our beta testers... Poker Invaders is easy to pick up and shows you how to destroy the aliens and defend your sweet cows - even if you have never played poker before! We have been working on making the gameplay challenging for poker players but really simple to get into so that everyone can enjoy it.

Thanks for your question. We are a brand new company and our Poker Invaders website is coming soon in mid-jan 2011: www.pokerinvaders.com.

There will be loads of cool stuff to check out on our site once the game is released so please check it out in the New Year!

In the meantime you are very welcome to add Moon Shepherd as a friend on facebook and join the Poker Invaders FB group. We'll have our Twitter page up and running soon too

At the moment the Poker Invaders site shows a sneak peak screenshot from our special limited edition version of Poker Invaders with retro artwork from cult San-Franciscan pixel artist, Minus Baby. Sometime in the future we are hoping to release this limited special edition of the game along with some other very cool features which we are keeping under wraps for now....

In case you are wondering about Poker Invaders' standard graphics, the mega talented artist who has created all of the amazing art and the cool characters in Poker Invaders is Garth Cochrane.
