Police Patrol Game is a small (one man) indie game production targeted for mobile platforms (Android and iPhone in the first phase). Target is to release the first version of the game on iOS during July-August/2013. The Game will be made with 2D graphics from the top-down perspective like the early Grand Theft Auto titles (GTA1 and GTA2). In Police Patrol Game the player assumes the role of rookie police officer and progresses on his career by completing various missions. Target is to produce an action packed game with fun and entertaining gaming experience. Game was originally inspired by the old Sierra Online / Police Quest series, but ended up quite different from those old classics.. All feedback is welcomed! A) Yes, you can only play as a cop B) It is possible to exit vehicles, chase down the suspects on foot, arrest them or shoot them C) Yes, You can freely roam the city and stop any AI controlled vehicles As the player gains higher rank new vehicles and weapons are unlocked.
This looks good, actually. Can you add different control options (such as analog steering) and some different UI layouts? The car speed seems kinda slow btw...
There are weapons? You can shoot dudes up? Since I have to stop the racing, at least I get to shoot him.
It is possible to exit vehicles, chase down the suspects on foot, arrest them or shoot them Are there random crimes? Like heists, hold ups, gang activity? Day/night cycle and if so, any differences? Can you enter buildings? Yes, You can freely roam the city and stop any AI controlled vehicles So do you actually stop them (put on sirens and they pull over) or is it like Smash Cops? Can you get out and arrest the driver? Are there civilian AI doing things like speeding or hit and run? Anyway, super excited for this. Just saw End of Watch (awesome movie) and I can't find any games where you play as cops besides LA Noire
Well a game where you play a "good guy" cop. Not undercover like in Sleeping Dogs or bullet time murderer like in Max Payne.
Currently there is 7 different weapons in the game... and yes, you can shoot down the suspects although that might not always be your best option
There are random crimes that are given by the dispatcher (a bit like in LA Noir). In the first version, these missions consists of robbery (heist), hit and run and street racing missions. Plan is to add many more dispatcher missions over time, but the game will launch with these three. Day night / cycle is also something that I would like to implement eventually. This, however, will not be part of the initial release. It is not possible to enter buildings at this point. This would require quite a bit of work. The other option to play the game is to roam the city and look for suspiciously behaving vehicles which you can then pull over (they will react to sirens), give tickets, arrest the driver etc. These are spawn at random when the game spawns AI vehicles. Thanks for your feedback LA Noir is a great game... one of my favorites along with the LCPDFR mod for GTA IV.
Adding different control options is something I need to look into once the initial version of the game is out. The car speed depends on the vehicle... some go faster then the others
