Whoever reviewed must have been more strict. But if it's in the rules, it's in the rules. Silly or not.
On a bright side, it's not something that makes the game impossible to be released.

And if someone want to argue about the morality involved, I don't think this forums are the right place to do it.

Sure the rule is though that "Enemies" within the context of a game cannot solely target a specific race, culture, a real government or corporation, or any other real entity.

It's not solely targeting anything within the game as the term is used for both sides when referring to the other.

Well the guideline itself is a legitimate rule that is designed to reject apps that target specific real world entities, be they governments, nationalities, corporations or individuals, with a hateful or negative association.

And as the dictionary definition of "enemy" is
1. a person who feels hatred for, fosters harmful designs against, or engages in antagonistic activities against another; an adversary or opponent.
2. an armed foe; an opposing military force: The army attacked the enemy at dawn.
3. a hostile nation or state.
4. a citizen of such a state.
5. enemies, persons, nations, etc., that are hostile to one another: Let's make up and stop being enemies.
6. something harmful or prejudicial: His unbridled ambition is his worst enemy.
7. the Enemy, the Devil; Satan.
8. belonging to a hostile power or to any of its nationals: enemy property.
9. Obsolete . inimical; ill-disposed".
(http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/enemy for reference)

While the game itself may have a historical context, it does appear as though the term "enemy" is being used to reference either German and/or Russian forces, which are current day nations, nationalities, governments and individuals.

Hence the rule was broke.
It may err on the side of caution and be an example of political correctness gone a bit heavy handed, but it still clearly breaks the existing guideline which the dev should have been more than aware of.

Is it right or wrong?
Well this certainly is not the medium for it and I question the posting of the thread in the first place and to what its ultimate purpose is along with the associated linked article.
Dealing directly with Apple Developer support was a much more useful strategy than this one and generation of the associated article.

The rule itself does have strong moral guidelines and serves a greater purpose and is designed to rule out using the App Store as a means of personal or political attacks on other entities.
It is better to have the rule than not.
The reviewer in this particular case was simply following the rules that the developer should have been aware of.
That other ones got through just means not all reviewers pay enough attention and sorry if this is a bit harsh, I just don't see it as a wise move to publicise it in such a a way.

Just had an email back from Apple. They've re-reviewed then game (without any changes from us) and approved it!

It should be released around midnight tonight. Big thanks to everyone who supported us!
