    About Xaxist Arts

    Xaxist Arts is an indie game development studio based in the small town of Nashik, India. We have been working on a game for quite a long time now and have few things ready to show.

    Rolling Zimro

    Rolling Zimro is a first of it kind action unlimited runner game with trippy rolling mechanics set in beautiful 3D low poly worlds!

    Planet Smoraah is dying. The smongs on the planet are left with some sacred leaves, but not enough. Earthling Zimro is the only one who knows how to grow the scared plants. King Smong has ordered to capture Zimro and the smongs are invading planet earth. Its time for Zimro to run for his life.

    Lots of enemies and obstacles

    Big Smongs, tiny Smongs, Smongships, Stones, Barrels, Bonfire, they are all in Zimro's way. Make sure to have quick reflexes as Zimro will have more than one occasion to scream Bwaaah....and so will you!

    Whacky humorous power-ups

    High Fly, Booti Baba, Shrooms, Joyride, Natures Gift, Munchie Magnet and many more. Collect the colorful tasty munchies and trade them to buy power-up upgrades.

    Features

    - 3 different gorgeous looking worlds!
    - Unique rolling action unlimited runner mechanics.
    - Run, jump, slide and fly and much more actions to perform.
    - Procedurally generated enemies and obstacles so you get different level every time.
    - 8 super exciting power-ups.

    Glad you liked the style! I wish we had a good voice over artist for funny words. As of now, Zimro just laughs as he's on a Joyride ;)

    The music in the short vid I saw has a definite bluegrass/folksy sound to it. The spinning world is also interesting. How much longer if you know?

    @Gamer1st - We are trying our best to deliver it by this December. I'm not sure whether Christmas is the right time to release the game, especially when big studios like EA will drop their prices.

    The EA comment suggests this will be a paid game, which is what I'd hoped for, honestly. Any gameplay video coming? :)

    Update - We are back from the NASSCOM GDC and we heard a lot from devs around about their experiences releasing their games around Christmas time. And as per them, they have suffered to some extent. So probably we will be pushing the game release towards January.

    @AnarKitty - We have worked for about 11 months on the game now and are living on the mercy of credit cards. Despite of the buzz that Premium is dead, we would want to give it a shot. We will be producing the gameplay video probably by this weekend. Hope you will like it.

    @Andre - We are introducing a shop section to the game right now where upgrades can be purchased. We're calling it 'The Stash' as it suits the whole game theme ;). We are also working on the particles, trying our hands on the Particle Designer tool. Will have a better video update this weekend.

    Looks good. Why not incentivise the shares though: share to get an extra 5-10 pizza slices?

    Here's a quick video preview of what we call it as rolling mechanics. Unlike other side scrollers, the game worlds roll in this game. Our major aim to introduce such rolling worlds was to give the player trippy feel and make it hard to have good reflexes. We think, we have succeeded in that as our testers are having hard time surviving in the game.

    Controls
    ---------
    Tap on left part of screen to jump. Long press, long jump.
    Tap on right part of screen to slide. Long press, long slide.

    Player needs to have quick reflexes to jump above the obstacles and enemies. Player can hit the smongs by sliding.

    Background track used is a loop from Audio Jungle which we haven't purchased yet. We are waiting for the feedback on the track from you guys. If you like it, we will have it in the game.

    Any sort of feedback to make it better is appreciated.



    P.S - Bear with the advert in the video. YouTube says the music used belongs to third party and hence we cannot remove the ads.

    We haven't really got much time to work on the game in the past few weeks, but we hope to make it up in January.

    Game submitted to Apple for review

    Update after a long long time. Its been really hard for a single developer to manage everything from art, development, website and trailers. But finally things are coming on track.

    Submitted our final build to Apple for review and hoping for an early May release.
