Transfering Apps in iTunes Connect

Apples new feature in iTunes Connect 'App Transfer' allows you to transfer apps from one account to another, and it works great.

SOME ADVICE IF YOU ARE THINKING OF DOING THIS YOURSELF
You will need the Apple ID of the recipientís Team Agent and their Team ID.

The Apple id is the email address the account you want to transfer to uses to log in with.

Where is the team ID in Itunes Connect?
The team ID is a bit trickier to find. You can't find it in iTunes connect you need to go to the developer centre.
https://developer.apple.com/devcenter/ios/index.action
Then view your account info and you will find the Team ID there. It took me a while to track down the Team id myself, and their isn't any info online in any of apple support documentation so hopefully this helps someone else.

THE PROCESS AND SPEED
You enter the details of the other account, O.K. the agreement and the app is set to transfer. The recipient OK's the app in their itunes connect and within minutes the app is transferred. We transferred 5 apps, the ones without Game Centre transferred instantly, the ones with Game Centre took about 30mins to transfer.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN
It means that developers can now easily sell and transfer their apps. It also means that when an app is transferred it still retains all it's ratings, store position and users, so when updates are made they still work.

In the past to transfer an app you had to take the app down off the store and resubmit for approval. Which meant that all the work done in the initial launch was lost and the app when resubmitted gets a new ID and looses its customer base for upgrades.

It is a great new feature in iTunes Connect and it works a treat.
