Hi, I have searched the forum but did not find any threads with this topic, i think it will be interesting to see in what environment all the great apps you guys make, are created.Besides that it will help me decide on my future office! We are a two man team so far , and just started developing our first game!
I'm pretty sure there is a thread like this already. Or was that on an other site? Anyway, here is my work desk. For me this is still only a hobby, so I don't have a real office.
Have you ever considered adding another monitor or two? If you got rid of that desk lamp you could fit one in that space.
Good idea But actually I got rid of one of them. That pic is a few weeks old. It's more convenient to use a multi-monitor setup then some might think. Especially for the "creative" part of the work, like graphic arts. But you can also put a tutorial or documentation on one display and work on the other and you don't need to switch all the time anymore.
Wow, that a really nice setup you got, I am currently at just two monitors, that should be enough for a while!
A bigger workspace to reduce minimize / maximize time. It's so much better to be able to reference something on another screen instead of flipping back and forth.
Here's a pic of my office. I'm working 99% of my time on my PC (right) even for Mac or Iphone dev thanks to my cross platform lib JC
Is the magic trackpad any good? I can't imagine doing serious work without a real mouse. Though I never tried the magic trackpad.
ATM, mid-Georgia Strait. This is not actually the boat I live on, though I am on a first name basis with the ferry staff.
Here is my new, much cut down desk. Until recently there was also a second desk, a high spec PC, Xbox360 and PS3 dev kits and three more monitors. The laptop is part of the setup (at least when I'm sitting at the desk), it's remote controlled by Synergy. The only PCs I need run under VMWare on the Macs. I also do some development out and about on the macbook, which will soon be replaced with a 15". Note my custom made iPad stand sitting on the Wacom tablet. Made from Lego Technic.
Holy crap... you have a lot of computers and monitors on your desk! I would be confused if I needed to look all these while working I'll post a picture soon as I clean up my desk, because it's a big mess right now
