The story is about Clover, a princess, who is angry because of a prince. She wants revenge, so she's ready to fight with everyone. The story is told with nice artworks at the beginning and there are some others later in the game. It seems there are 4 levels in a world, in each of them you have to kill monsters, so you win money and items. Clover can fight with her weapon, use some powers when you touch the sword button and the pad, she jumps with the top arrow and can slash with a double tap. At some moments, you can use her special power (she's very sad so very powerful) and she wins levels. The game has an interesting RPG part with capacities points, items (a more bigger bag could be nice), weapons... After each stage, you go to the cave where there are 3 shops: items, swords and pets. I just had a pet so I can't tell if it's usefull or not, but it's expensive. The 4th level is for the boss which is more powerful and difficult than other enemies. I'd no problem in the levels but I'd a hard time with the 1st boss. I'm really enjoying the game, the story is entertaining and the graphics are beautiful (even if there is no Retina display support). Each level/world has its own elements and enemies so the levels are not too much repetitive. A funny thing for me is the fact you don't move left to right (like in Knight's Rush): you have to go where the enemies are, so you're all the time moving everywhere in the level but with no vertical scrolling. theunis Well-Known Member Oct 27, 2010 248 0 0 #11 theunis, Dec 17, 2010 Last edited: Dec 17, 2010 This is just such a absolutely beautiful game to look at, the music is also chosen to suit the cartoon/story style used in the application This is not just your ordinary hack/slash beat them up, its very nice cause at the end of each level you get given a rating, based on time and highest combo (but time plays the greatest role). Its fun to try get the S ranking for each level, as in order to maintain your combo you must dodge attacks (if you get hit, it resets). There are also a number of game achievements to be unlocked (I can't view them however) but which all increase the replayability of a level, making you dash across the screen as fast as possible to complete the level, maintain a good combo, dodge attacks and finish in a good time. There are also 13 weapons to choose from You can also choose between pets,a blob, a boar, a wolf (second fav), an orc, a bee and a dragon (best. Depending on which items you feed them, will influence what stats increase, making it fun and exciting to see which items have which effects - Your pet does not level up by fighting, but rather through the feeding. The pets are very useful in helping your combos increase my dragon also helped me kill the first boss, while I was being charged by a huge boar with a crown lol PS: If anyone is worried about the IAP for pets - you dont need them, you can buy everything after a level in the shopping area (screenshot 3). I saved up and got me a dragon The dragon is the most expensive pet 109700 coins, but its fun replaying a level to get the gold . The dragon may be a little small in the screenshots, but he is near sad princess (the more you feed him and level him up the bigger it gets) Totally worth the wait perloGames . This game is truly worth 1.99, if you love cartoons, love beat em up and dash games - and crazy and cool pets, that grow as you level them up and the more you feed them, you love a good and fun (verty well animated) story - then all I can say is pick this one up Its the solereason I haven't looked at Dungeon Defenders yet Its an amazing idea, that is beautifuly played out (I just have one problem on my 3GS ios 4.2.1, when I reach level 22 my level resets to lv 1 :/ I have played through it for quite sometime to unlock the dragon, and to be on level 1 again - My girlfriend has a 4g iPod Touch and she has had absolutely no problems what so ever - does anyone else have this problem ? Thanks very much for the review and problem report! theunis Well-Known Member Oct 27, 2010 248 0 0 #13 theunis, Dec 18, 2010 Well I tried to recreate it - it happens during battle, but I cant really reconstruct the problem, I just reached lv 22 again and it was fine but then when i was on lv 25 fighting (and just leveled up) it got reset again (I am not exactly sure when it occurs as I was more focused on trying to get an S in 2-4 . I am not sure if its an overflow perhaps with the score or something, I have attached a screenshot, I am the strongest lv 4 ever lol, my attack is max and my HP. Any ideas what could cause it ? Then I could avoid it so I can get the nice weapon I want ? Honestly Perlo I still have no idea how Dungeon Defenders, NOVA 2 or Tomb Raider is lol gosh this game is so much fun I used my money to buy the white crystals and add it to my weapon so that I gain more exp and gold faster and my dragon attacks with 1000+ damage so its really nice the dragon is the best pet by far The game is a fantastic title and brilliant spin on the typical beat them up genre - which was in desperate need of new ideas - and you bring that to the table. Its just so beautiful watching sad princess brawling these ugly bees (I hate them - always slow me down and ruin my combos lol, werewolfs, and lil cute blobs all on the screen, in what I can honestly say is the most beautiful art I have seen on the iPhone annd the controls never feel as if they are unresponsive PS: Pls don't let this minor problem deter anyone, the game is so much fun and absolutely gorgeous to watch and experience The controls also handle like a dream, and trying to get an S on each lv is strangely very addicting Perlo your game does what I feel and wished other beat em ups could be Attached Files: IMG_0515.PNG File size: 205.2 KB Views: 11 Scaramoosh Well-Known Member Feb 25, 2010 288 0 0 #14 Scaramoosh, Dec 18, 2010 Was hoping for a Fat Princess clone. djflippy Well-Known Member Mar 9, 2009 4,441 0 36 #15 djflippy, Dec 18, 2010 Just to echo the spot on comments from theunis, this game is gorgeous, thoroughly charming, challenging, and fun. Shanatenay Well-Known Member Dec 19, 2010 82 0 0 #17 Shanatenay, Dec 19, 2010 I really like the game and the artwork looks great. It reminds me a lot of Odin Sphere (also same artist as Muramasa for Wii). Anyway I think it could be much better with a few updates: some easier to add than others. Easier to add: -Game speed slider (I think attacking should be a little faster) -Level counter or Level Health Bar so that you know how many more enemies you have left to kill. It would either count down or the bar would diminish so you know how far into the level you are. -Jump button just to have the option of having an actual button instead of pressing up -More backpack space -Have the Pet button summon it instead of bringing you to the pet menu More difficult to add: -Special skills like most action-rpgs have. I know there's the sadness attacks but more moves would be cool -More regular combos. I know this would require more animation, but more combos based on timed button presses (like the OMG Pirates controls) Even a counter attack if you press the shield button at the right time would be cool. I still really like the game and it was well worth the money. I'm just offering suggestions. Feel free to add to the list!
