Hello everyone! I am trying to build a library of games that use touch technology in interesting and exciting ways. I really believe that touch gaming has yet to come into its own (and stop making watered down PC ports). If anyone has any suggestions of cool games that use touch technology in interesting ways, it would be much appreciated! A couple titles that I find use touch particularly interestingly are: The World Ends With You (originally a Nintendo DS game and it doesn't port great, but still...) Crashlands Devouring Stars Magic Touch
Some of the most innovative titles, in one way or another (gameplay, controls, game design, gimmicks, etc) Colossatron Shadowmatic Blueprint 3D EPOCH.1 / EPOCH.2 Spooklands Swap Cops/Swap Heroes 1 & 2 Shadow Vamp Zoo Turn Touch Force Monsters Ate My Condo The Executive
Oh, I couldn't disagree more about The World Ends With You - I think it's an absolutely amazing port. When it works. Probably my favourite game in any format. As for other original games that make great use of touchscreens: HoPiKo is a very well designed and simply wouldn't work without swipes. Land Sliders is very original, even if it's not my cup of tea. Prune is, as far as I know, both unique and ideal for touchscreens.
Some games just work better with touch screen. Plants Vs. Zombies for one, although I'm convinced if they adapted a "StarCraft attitude", or PC RTS approach, they could've made it work just fine by using the keyboard as shortcuts to some of the plants you click on along the top, and the shovel tool. Galaxy Trucker is the digital version of the board game. Manipulating tiles works much better when you don't have to reach across the table.
