I thought I'd let you know that my first application "Apper" has been released onto the App Store. It's currently the closest thing to a TouchArcade Mobile app. It lets you find and then read the very best news, reviews and rumors for iPhone gaming, wherever you are! The included sites are TouchArcade, The Apper, RazorianFly, FingerGaming and a few more. In about a month, an update will be released allowing users to download more websites, create favorite folders, rate and comment articles easier plus much much more. You may criticize it, but you must understand how much work and effort I put into it. You can check out the app here: http://linktoapp.com/Apper
Looks like a cool app, i bought and ill post what i think Im going to have to ask you a ridiculous question tho How did you rename the hyper ling the "apper" part?
The support button is the only way to get to the website currently, and there isn't too much info quite yet.
No Slide To Play - no buy. And why does your app start safari to read the articles? Is this only some kind of cheap RSS reader like the first review on the german appstore makes me believe?
I could add those if you would like. If you guys want any more site just post them here and I'll submit an update soon.
It was rejected before by Apple due to duplicating Safari, so we changed it to the way it is now. It was very strange, but we think it will be OK to change it in a future update.
Can you explain how exactly your app works? Does it read the RSS feeds or does it really rebuild the websites for better readability on the small screen like some Wikipedia apps do?
The app opens up Safari, but the 2.0 update will rebuild the site. Also, I'll be adding these sites soon: SlideToPlay touchApper iUseThis AppVee Apple iPhone School FreshApps Gizmodo Ars Technica iPhone App Reviews iPhoneAlley Lockergnome AppRater What'sOniPhone
i prefer how Scoop works, where it loads the data from digg, in the scoop example, right in the app...rather then opening up safari also would your app process the appshopper feeds, for price drops, updates, etc.
I still don't understand how it works. Can you post some screenshots? Or is the screenshot from the app store the only screen it has and the next thing that happens is opening up Safari? Is the app just a bookmark collection at the moment?
yeah, we will include all of AppShopper's feeds too. Also we will have little icons beside each feed a d the ability to edit the app's screen. Any more suggestions? Again, this is my first applicationever with just a few months of experience.
can you add more screenshots to the store, judging from the one screenshot up there...could you add themes, or maybe make the tabs transparent black with white text, so it is easier on the eyes at night time although some users like their apps to be flashlights, i normally browse apps as i am falling asleep so maybe the option of themes, or the ability to change the look to appease to different users would be a nice addition good jawb on getting your app out there
Great idea! I'm going to be submitting v1.1 tonight which will include all of those new websites, a new description and more screenshots. After that I'll submit v1.2 with article viewing from within the app, and different themes. Then I'll start working on v2.0.
I honestly can't wait to see where you take this app next, especially seeing as RazorianFly is a part of it! [Edit] - Can I suggest a feature for the next version? Just a capital 'F' in RazorianFly (still all one word) Haha ... Cheers. R-Fly
