Not a lot of details yet (timeline, price, or even how different it will be from the PC/console version), but apparently John Carmack's Rage will be confirmed for both the iPhone/iPod Touch and iPad by Bethesda at E3. More here. The Jurassic Park and HAWX 2 announcement are interesting, too, but I'm sure that people are more excited about Rage. Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel
been following rage for a while, didn't know if they were for sure making it for iPhone and iPad nice to know some confirmation
New Rage iPhone footage on Kotaku, from the keynote at QuakeCon -- unfortunately I can't embed it here. Apparently we will see a teaser game soonish, while the full game (whatever that means) will be out next year along with the console and PC versions. Money quote from Kotaku:
Nice find squarezero! You always find big news and share it with us. Rage is set to kill next year. I'm looking forward to any version that comes out.
WOW, thats insane, but it does leave one wondering what the price point on a full fledged game such as rage would be set at on the iphone
Darn, another amazing looking game! btw, what what what? Hawx 2 for iPhone or what?! (I've seen the PC ver on steam) Link please!
Well this has certainly brightened my day, I've been interested in rage ever since I saw an in-depth article in edge, and Carmack has proved time and time again he's a master of gaming tech.
This looks like one of the most amazing things to ever come to the iDevices. I have been looking forward to this on the consoles, and I didn't even think of this running potentially running on my iPod!
Those graphics are insane, and at 60 fps on iphone 4... Carmack really is the man! Mind you Doom res is still one of the best looking games on the app store so its hardly surprising.
i saw the video and it brought a tear to my eye. this is incedible. hopefully it can run on 2nd gen itouches
maybe you should have turned your vollume up to listen to carmack talking about how great it even runs on the ORIGINAL iPhone?
Looks amazing. Nice to see someone taking the iPhone seriously and utilising it's power to full potential.
What really brought a smile to my face is to hear Carmack said that he's actually making money off his iPhone titles. That there is the key.
That is interesting (yet to watch the video as QuickTime seems to dislike it). I guess the titles themselves mean there's a large Market for it, plus the fact that the games are for the most part really good quality.
