If you enjoy the likes of Dust (flash game) and want a somewhat better-presented game that you can take with you, this will do you just fine. And hell, it's free. I have to say though, the main game has no objectives. It's literally a sandbox - there for you to create whatever you want, letting your imagination run wild. The good news is that you can create anything from Rube Goldberg machines, to growing a plant with seeds, water, sunshine and lots of love, before covering it in oil, then setting said oil on fire. Just to see what happens. Sandbox indeed. killercow Well-Known Member Apr 8, 2009 3,783 1 38 https://twitter.com/killercow #8 killercow, May 14, 2012 Well this version has objectives, you unlock new elements as the "days" (missions) go by and you need to complete certain tasks. Also you've got a lot of achievements (game center) to keep yourself busy Echoseven Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Patreon Gold Patreon Bronze Jul 19, 2011 6,091 269 83 The red Skittle #9 Echoseven, May 14, 2012 Well I knew there were "days" where you unlock elements, but the main part is when you're let loose to create your own anythings once you have unlocked everything. I don't think the days will be the main draw to the game. ^^ Vincexn Well-Known Member May 9, 2012 83 0 0 #10 Vincexn, May 14, 2012 When does this come out in Australia? I hope it's either to unlock a "full version" or disable ads. I really hope its not some sort of micro-transaction recharge mana system as I'd like to enjoy this little jewel in it's entirety by paying one time in full... The mana is used to unlock new elements that you discover through daily quests. You can unlock them by mana you earn in game but i think that eventually you'll be stuck. You can either buy some mana and hope that'll we enough or unlock them all for 5.49€ (7$?). GodSon Well-Known Member Mar 12, 2009 3,373 0 36 #17 GodSon, May 14, 2012 Thanks. Hmm...are you limited to one daily quest a day? I guess what I really don't want is to be limited in a game that looks limitless (or close to). So if you can earn/pay for enough mana to be able to play the game in it's entirety, I can live with that (also hoping there are no ads and/or a way to disable via iap). I just hope we wont be limited somewhere else. Regardless, I'm looking forward to picking this up come 8pm PST. Echoseven Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Patreon Gold Patreon Bronze Jul 19, 2011 6,091 269 83 The red Skittle #18 Echoseven, May 14, 2012 I played through the days that were available in the tutorial (I don't see why these would be different in this version) in one sitting. I don't know how much this will give you in terms of mana, since we had everything unlocked, but I think you should have enough to unlock all the elements at least, since some backgrounds can also be purchased for mana. Come to think of it, I don't even know if you can grind mana to unlock stuff. I'd download the complete version and check it out, but it's 4 am and I *just* finished my assignment, so I need sleep more than I need this. Sorry guys. killercow Well-Known Member Apr 8, 2009 3,783 1 38 https://twitter.com/killercow #19 killercow, May 14, 2012 The "days" are not on a daily basis, like Echoseven saud you can finish them all in one sittng but completing them is the only way to gain mana and you can't "grind" it. There's no ad at all and buying all the elements pretty much means no IAP needed. Snozberry Well-Known Member Jan 21, 2012 877 2 0 #20 Snozberry, May 14, 2012 I really enjoyed the campaign/days mode while beta testing but it really doesn't last long unfortunately.. I spent many more hours in the freeplay sandbox then the "days" mode, so I guess that's why people are referring to the sandbox mode as the main mode/attraction. It'll be cool when more levels come out.. The levels started getting really cool towards the end..I was bummed when it ended. It's one of those games you pick up and can't put down, and I despise playing games on my iPhone, but I was glued to it for hours doing the levels..then days mucking around with the sandbox and drawing pixel art and making random contraptions. I wonder what's going to happen if you have to pay to unlock certain elements (if there isn't enough mana) I played through all the levels, then unlocked all the elements but then it said "you don't have enough mana" so I bought mana through IAP (since it doesn't actually charge you in beta) ... So yeah I'm guessing you will have to go without about 3 elements so make sure you choose the elements you buy with your free ingame mana very wisely You earn mana after each level you finish, and there's about 23 levels if I remember correctly. Always read the daily goal before unlocking random elements or you might spend all your mana without actually being able to complete the daily goal. That's really the only advice I can give. It's definitely NOT one of those games that suck the money from your wallet.. They pretty much give you all elements through passing levels, bar one or two.. So you can fully enjoy the full game for free.. But if you want to mess around with a few more elements in the free sandbox, you couod support the devs and pay 99c-$1.99 to unlock the rest of the elements so you can enjoy the entire game and never have to pay again.actually, I'm Not sure if future elements/levels will be added as a cost though, So I cant say for sure that you never have to pay again. But it's not "consumable" IAPs is what I mean. It seems very modest so far, but I can't speak for the future. It almost seems too modest..so hopefully later more content will be added for a price, or set a game download set price and just have an early bird free promotion. (it's a business not a charity!) after all their hard work making this masterpiece I really hope they get rewarded financially but the current pricing model makes me think otherwise..people will love and respect this game no doubt, but no one wants to spend money on an app if they don't need to/everything is available..I'm worried this will make it too easy for people not to bother supporting the devs. Maybe I'm wrong. I can't talk, I'm no expert. But I truly hope this game does well so it'll raise the odds of more content. I'll be buying some IAPs for sure. Hope others who adore the game do too! And I Hope they add a in game level editor later on..where you can set goals.. Just like the daily missions..I wonder if that could be done..that'd be sweet as.
