It’s really that simple, but it’s a neat and unique approach to the match 3 genre that we think you’re going to like. it’s neither a Bejeweled nor a Diamond Dash clone, instead of having more in common with Mahjong/Shanghai than anything else. ----------------------------------------------- How to play: ● you have on your screen a tray holding 7 tiles that are populated from a game board. ● You tap a tile to make it go into your tray. The goal is to match every three colored tiles as quickly as possible from the game board, lest you fill up your 7 tile tray without any matching 3. ● Once you fail to have a matching group after putting down 7 tiles, you’ve failed. ----------------------------------------------- Rune Gems Features: ● The tiles are colorful and have a gemstone appearance to them. each tile board is different and varies from one to the next, giving the game a different flair for every level you play. ● Rune Gems is one of those games that’s perfect for picking up and playing for just a minute or two, or for a long time to waste the day away. Grab it and see how far you can get. ● Players have optional use of both “magic” and “time” runes to help them — the former automatically picks a good gem to take, while the latter allows for an “undo.” ----------------------------------------------- A little trick: Since a grouping can NEVER be more than 3, is to simply match as many triplets as fast as possible for an escalating speed combo bonus...but be careful, if in your haste you end up tapping on 4 red pieces, that 4th piece will now sit on the tray clogging stuff up until you find it two more partners. So always be mindful of what you put on the tray and make sure you can match it off quickly or letting it clog the flow up a bit is worth it if it is blocking your access to many other tiles underneath. ----------------------------------------------- Reviews: “A match 3 puzzle game set on a Majong style puzzle game board.” - Appsaga.com “Rune Gems is an excellent, well-presented game, friendly to both long and short play sessions.” - insidemobileapps.com “The whole game is well executed and we really love to tap on one of the runes, for the animation is so smooth.” - fun2tap.com ----------------------------------------------- if you have any questions or concerns, please contact us: http://starsprite.com/ Have fun & enjoying Rune Gems! Genre:Family, Puzzle, Trivia, Board Release:Oct 08, 2012 Updated:Apr 03, 2019 Version:4.6.1 Size:102.6 MB TouchArcade Rating:Unrated User Rating: (1) Your Rating:unrated Compatibility:HD Universal The video is from an old version—the game looks and sounds much better now: Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel I played 25 levels and the longer I'm playing the more fun it is! I don't have the impression that I'll ever need the undo function or special hints (IAPs for real money) what's confirmed by some user reviews in German iOS App Store. You can restart any level for free (needed that two or three times). You can make up to three stars in a level (be fast). Main thread with some early remarks by moderator LordGek. It seems that more than 150 levels are included (you unlock the next level by clearing the table of the previous one). How big is it installed? I'll grab it anyway as the gameplay concept sounds interesting, just not downloading till I'm back on faster broadband. Try it past level #10 and you can't stop any more. For fanatics (what I am) of Mahjongtype of stacks, rules (partly) for free (highlighted) tilesand Match-3 (Tetris, Bejeweled) mechanics definitely worth a try. 83.8 MB on iPad Air. That's not so bad at all. It's not documented anywhere but you can listen to your own music in the background (just launch iTunes music) btw. Supports Game Center with one leaderboard and twelve achievements (got already 85 points). And now: tap tap tap with a tiny (but clever) bit of thinking. As said before: You never can be fast enough. Must enjoy it. nightc1 Well-Known Member Oct 19, 2012 4,362 0 0 AL #7 nightc1, Jan 13, 2014 Thanks for the info. 80+mb isn't bad in this day and age but it still makes me feel strange to see puzzle games that are more than a couple megabytes. The gameplay is why I haven't just deleted this after locking in the license. I love mahjong and casually like match-3 so this should be pretty interesting. Gonna finish downloading at work since it'll only take a minute or two there while at home my Internet is just slow and worse so since getting two ps3's at Christmas and downloading games on there. _Max_ Well-Known Member Apr 19, 2012 1,500 0 0 #8 _Max_, Jan 13, 2014 Worth a try, simple fun match 3 puzzle game.
