Well, as much as I love Castlevania, I don't really like puzzle quest so I think I'll give this one a miss. Had it been like the old school Castlevania's or Syphony of the Night and the DS series, I'd be all over it.

So they took Puzzle Kombat from Mortal Kombat Deception and put it to a Symphony of the Night theme... C'mon Konami, give us the real Symphony of the Night for God's sake!

And Puzzle Kombat was just Puzzle Fighter which was a spin-off of Street Fighter

Nonetheless, it was fun. Plus, I've never played Puzzle Fighter.

But yeah, I don't want a Castelvania-themed minigame. Sure, it was fun, but I want Symphony of the Night, not a minigame.

Same here. SotN is one of my favorite games of all time. But hopefully if this sells well we may get a port. It looks good as this game hasn't been released on any other system yet so if this is a truly original high quality and polished game it may mean Konami is taking the iDevice seriously which hopefully will result in a SotN port.

It's a toss up for me. On one hand, I want to buy the game and encourage real games in the future (preferrably either Metal Gear Solid or Symphony of the Night), but on the other, I don't want it to do well, as to say that we're sick of the spin-off crap that they're giving us.

True True I am not a big fan of company's just giving out spin offs instead of true games but for once this game actually looks really good. I love the Puzzle Fighter style gameplay and if done like a full game and not just some lame tetris with a Castlevania theme it could be really good

It looks really... mediocre to me. Just look at those sprites in the middle of the screen... They're not even positioned correctly on the ground! I've only played the Xbox Live Arcade demo of Symphony of the Night (was waiting for a sale since I don't have enough MS Points... never happened), and they look out of proportion.

And it kills me that it would be easier for them to just port the game (they already ported it to XBLA and PSP), but they decide to make some lackluster minigame spinoff of popular games. If games like Silent Hill: The Escape, Metal Gear Solid Touch, or this was a secret in one of those games, it'd be great, but as a standalone game, they just don't work.

The main reason why they don't port a full game of Castlevania (or others) is that (i think) they are afraid people won't buy it because they find the price too high, they could charge $9,99 for it but that might be not enough for the bigger companies and people (are spoiled with low priced apps) find that allready too much too pay and won't sell enough in this way. It's that easy.

    Although i'm buying this.

It will work as long as it doesn't have the cheating AI aspect that Puzzle Quest has.

Agreed... It would have been an insta-buy if it worked like Tetris Attack or Puzzle Quest.

How do you explain the success of Chaos Rings?
