If you have $4, dont buy anything from your backlog or from the recent weeks. Get this instead, and then congratulate yourself for a great purchase. Last month I bought an iPad Air 2 and I played a bit, but stopped to play Bioshock (which I finished yesterday). It seems a great game, but the controls could be improved. As for the visuals, they provided lots of customizable sliders to balance out performance and visuals. I think it actually looks good for a port on my ipad air. Having Bioshock (which i agree is a little bit better than Oddworld but they are different genres) doesnt mean you cant play Oddworld anymore, and im glad to have the ability to play both these games with me everywhere i go. Despite a few flaws, this is still a fantastic port of a cult classic that i can easily recommend, especially now that it's on sale. These premium ports are the main reason i love iOS gaming. Sure there is the occasional good and balanced freemium title, but in general the appstore is a cesspool of crappy apps aimed to make money than provide enjoyment to the players. I'm only trying to focus on a small number of games or else I never finish any of them. Just stopped it because Bioshock hooked me harder, but it will be my next action game. madreviewer Well-Known Member Sep 22, 2013 966 0 0 #6 madreviewer, Jan 21, 2015 I have finished this game and I am now playing the highest difficulty Rip73 Well-Known Member Nov 18, 2011 4,399 0 0 #7 Rip73, Jan 21, 2015 The very definition of a no brainer. Fantastic game. Fantastic port. A must have. trazer Well-Known Member Nov 14, 2013 141 0 0 #8 trazer, Jan 23, 2015 Great game no doubt about it. I do not have it on the iPad though, I purchased it on steam during the last sale. I got it and three other odd world games in the "odd bundle" for a grand total of $3.64. Better deal by far on PC and I don't have to mess with touchscreen controls. I wanted it after reading the reviews on here as I'd never played it before. Totally worth it. Love the game though! jar0d Well-Known Member Jan 4, 2010 530 0 16 Europe #9 jar0d, Jan 23, 2015 So glad I waited a bit. Awesome. It's about getting something on sale. I know you've bought something (12 pack of soda, box of cereal, buy one get one free on a $2 item) that you were pumped about saving money on too. No need to make a comment like that on a sale thread to make yourself look like you're mr money who pays full price for everything. No need for me to have to point this out either. Let's be excited for the game and sale for those who just picked it up. It's a good game regardless of price. Maybe you paid more for the game maybe you got it on sale too. Either way more sales are a win for the dev as its more money coming in, whether it made sales goals or not. madreviewer Well-Known Member Sep 22, 2013 966 0 0 #12 madreviewer, Jan 24, 2015 It's still saving. There are only 5 x $2 in $10 jar0d Well-Known Member Jan 4, 2010 530 0 16 Europe #13 jar0d, Jan 24, 2015 Thank you. Thank you very much. At least someone out there who gets it. I used to buy all awesome games in release day. But I didn't find the time to play everything. So I learned to get more patient and buy games - also on full price - if the time is right for me to play them. And when the time and a sale happens to be at the same time I'm kind of happy and glad I waited. quebecotr Well-Known Member Jun 5, 2010 841 0 16 Male Retired teacher Milwaukee, WI #14 quebecotr, Jan 24, 2015 Ditto that - a sale is always satisfying, and it makes up for those games you buy the day before they go half-price or more ! Coldar Well-Known Member Dec 26, 2008 2,458 5 38 Upstate NY/USA #15 Coldar, Jan 25, 2015 Yes!, well said and glad to have read your response to a possible beginning trend of postings that berate or post middle-of-the-road-curt-reply's for someone getting a game on sale and within a sales/freebie thread of all places. I pay games at full price all the time and many are $5+ so I don't get what entitles someone to post to shame someone for getting a game on sale. I hear the controls are a little off and would be nice to try a lite version but maybe later after I finish a few games I'll pick it up...........even if its full price.
