Hi, we at Treehouse Ltd. are happy to announce our Iphone/Ipod Touch game "1951 - World War I" is out now! iTunes link Our website Gameplay trailer: Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel Setting It's 1951 and First World War is about to begin! On June 28th 1914 separatist assassination attempt against Franz-Ferdinand, Austrian heir of throne, failed miserably. Gavrilo Princip took aim and pulled the trigger only to find his gun clicking, feebly. The gun was jammed and Grand Duke escaped unscathed. With this single mechanical failure the seed of First World War was never sown, and without the humiliation of Versaille's there was no wind to fan the flames for a second one. Adolf Hitler had to make his living as a mediocre marketplace artist at the streets of Vienna instead of becoming the dangerous, dictatorial dreamer he would otherwise have been. But without two global wars to drive the technology forward the world of 1951 remains much like the world at the turn of the century - colonialism upholding imperial economies and withering alliances cemented with royal marriages. It's Imperialism iced with biplanes and rock'n roll! Specifications - Designed for iPhone / iPod Touch - Tilt and gesture controls with feel of flying - Fully 3d graphics with different weather conditions - Open ended maps for tactical dogfight gameplay - Advanced AI for enemies - Light RPG elements - Special manouveres like barrel-roll and Immelmann to gain tactical upper hand - Two single player modes, wave mode and survivor mode - OpenFeint support Some extra screenshots:
this is cool and all but WWI was in 1914 is this supposed to be fictional? sory nvm i didnt read the description
Sounds like a history teacher who drank too much and wrote the storyline, epic. Is there a video that will come? Yes it would have been a better world if Arch Duke didn't get assassined
Without that assassination, would Franz Ferdinand's namesake band be called something different, I wonder? REALLY into the concept. I am a filmmaker/actor/singer (and have previously written, directed and produced a film set in WW2 - see http://www.afc.gov.au/filmsandawards/recentfilms/cannes04/feature_110.aspx - anyway, I would love to just shoot some video sequences, indie-style, to help deliver this concept, provide you with great cutscenes & add this credit to my portfolio in return. Can we talk further?
Most of the maneuvering is done on the same altitude, but addition to that you can perform special moves like Immelmann fully 3d
Well we certainly took our sweet time, but the game has now been submitted to Apple for review. We're quite satisfied with the result and look forward to seeing how you guys like it. The OP has been updated with a gameplay trailer and some extra screenshots to whet your appetite a little bit. We'll keep you updated as soon as Apple does their thing.
