=UPDATE - 1/16= Sorry for the lack of update! We've been busy tweaking the game and testing it on a daily basis. At this point now, we're around a month or two from the release. There's been a lot of exciting things going on in the past few months: Although this isn't iOS related, our friends at OUYA have been extremely excited of us and have supported us to be a OUYA launch title so that's been a fun development for us. OUYA players will be connected to the same servers as the iOS and Android players so everyone will be able to play against each other! We'll have Regional Servers so those from the US-West/East/Europe can play at optimal connections vs others from the same region. There will be an ability to switch your region in the menus, but you're going to really want to play at the best network connection for the best performance. As mentioned above, we've been spending a ton of time balancing the game with all the Mech, Ability, Weapon, Upgrade, and Tech configuration combinations and want to make sure that the game always remains as a skill-based game and will NOT be pay-to-win. Thanks for being patient and we'll continue to update you guys on the status! Really excited to see this. I used to love playing mechwarrior. Just off the top of my head, I was thinking about the upper rotating body mechanic the mechs had in those games and how you could implement it into an iPhone game. Maybe you could make the aiming joystick be able to slide side to side or something to separately rotate the top part. Can't wait to see how this game progresses.
Also glad to see this game coming back, albeit heavily modified and improved. The original was very good so this one could only be better. Roll on launch.
Hey Florendas, We will have a modified Elo rating system for all players. That way players will be matched up to others at relatively similar skill levels and also so that the really skilled players don't always steamroll the new players. Although we're not sure if we're going to display a full world leaderboard ranking, we have all focus on making this a truly competitive game and plan to include many features to encourage that idea.
Updated Story Updated the original thread to include the backstory of the iMech universe, taken from our new blog at http://imechonline.blogspot.com. More updates to come very soon
Mech Showcase: Bootlock =UPDATE - 7/17= We plan to showcase our unique mechs on a regular basis here as well as on our blog at http://imechonine.blogspot.com. Let us know what you think! First, we'd like to introduce Bootlock! Mech Showcase: Bootlock Bootlock Bootlock was the result of one of the early designs that Dragmor Industries sold to the Terran Union. With its 4 legs, Bootlock was able to traverse the uneven terrain of different worlds. It was known as one of the most stable and easy to use Mechs during the Corp Wars. Due to its survivability rates, Bootlock was normally placed at the front line of combat. Bootlocks dense armor also makes it extremely effective against physical damage weapons. Users of this Mech are not known to give mercy to their opponents. Ability Mobile Repair Unit - Bootlock's Mobile Repair Unit (MRU) repairs Hull quickly and also puts out internal fires that it encounters while repairing. Strategy The MRU is best used when Hull fires have just started. By moving to a safe location and activating the MRU before the next skirmish, pilots can re-engage with a repaired Hull giving them the upper hand. Activating the MRU when Bootlock is at full Hull should be avoided to maximize the Hull gain. With Bootlocks resistance to physical damage, it should do very well against opponents equipped with bullet-based weapons, such as a machine gun or shotgun.
