There is nothing wrong with this imo. But I;m sorta surprised because TA and AppVee are compete against each other. But if TA needs the money or what ever it's fine. I'm just surprised but it's fine by me I coudl care less really. Discuss.
Yea thats what I;m talking about. I cant seem to find it but when I do I'll take a screenshot. Since it rotates I can seem to get it.
Interesting.... Don't see a banner on the bottom right hand side of the front page but maybe it's blocked here at work.....who knows. Count me in then as someone else that's surprised. Does TA have a banner on appvee too?
Hmm.. I saw the AppVee ad before as well. I think I saw it on the front page, at the top right hand side of the page (under "support our sponsors")..
Yeah, I've seen it there for the past month, too. Didn't remember what AppVee was 'til now, but never clicked it because it was too vague to interest me. Methinks TA is safe
Pretty simple, they want to drive traffic to their site. Touch Arcade gets a lot of traffic, so they bought a banner ad. I wouldn't really say they're competitors either. Touch Arcade is more about game discovery, which is why a lot of our posts are "Hey this came out, we tried it, here is what we liked about it, here's a trailer or brief gameplay video." AppVee is more of a video review site, so while I suppose technically we both deal with stuff from the App Store, their format is substantially different from ours and really, there's reason to read both sites. It's not like one is better (or replaces) the other.
right now I know but theoretically TA is driving traffic to AppVee which means it gets more popular which is bad for TA
*resist the urge to facepalm, must resiiiiist* Let's think about this in baby steps. Say you take a car to the train station, and take the train to Los Angeles. Step 1: Drive the car. Step 2: Take the train. Step 3: Arrive at LA. Now, just because you're taking the train doesn't mean your not going to use the car. People are still using the car, that's how they're getting to the train. You can't get rid of the car, you can get rid of the train, but the car will always be there.
