As discussed in this thread, I just wanted to check the interest in DLC. If the poll doesn't show up right now it means I'm in the middle of adding it. The comments to http://toucharcade.com/2010/01/13/the-creeps-update-released-with-dlc-level-packs/ and http://toucharcade.com/2009/12/28/fieldrunners-1-3-update-released/ are pretty negative when it comes to DLC. So the question is, would you pay for more levels in Sway? This is just to satisfy my curiosity. If you are not happy with the poll options or if you want to have your say about it, please post below.
I'd buy it in a heartbeat if it was fairly priced. I don't mind DLC at all as long as it isn't used to milk the consumer for stuff that should be in the base game, but provide an extended experience for fans of an otherwise complete game. See the Creeps DLC. Already had several modes, tons of levels, free updates, new features. The DLC was an addon for people that really loved the game, and I sprung for all 3 DLC packs without breaking a sweat. I'd do the same for Sway.
I'd totally pay for more levels. Sway is probably one of my favourite games of all time, my only qualm is that I can't get enough of it. So keep on truckin' guys, you're awesome.
I would buy DLC for Sway in a heartbeat. It's the perfect game to add on to, with it's level structure. It could be practically endless. You could even try a Rolando 2 type thing, and release a couple level demo of Sway with the option of purchasing the rest of the levels as you go. But I'd definitely buy additional levels to the current Sway, yes. It's one of my top favorite games, and as mentioned the only problem is there isn't enough of it. EDIT: lol at the last option in the poll
Anders I prove you wrong ps: though it won't really reflect how the market in general (not just TA crowds) will react to it, at least you get some fact. It's macro, but better than nothing
Non selfish-answer: I wouldn't mind it if it was providing genuine addition to the game at fair prices. I don't like it if the base product is released unfinished and you have to buy them to complete it. I want to buy a finished game when I buy a game, but expansions are okay. Selfish answer: No way to get wi-fi on my touch here, so I;d never be able to download any
5 levels doesn't seem many for a level pack. I doubt I'd pay for that many at that price. I realise there are 25 levels in the original game, and so it works out at the same cents per level but I've paid for all the game logic, characters and frontend with the original levels, so I'd expect more levels than that in a level pack - probably 10-15 for $0.99. I think Sway's a great little innovative product, btw. Top work.
Don't know if I would for Sway, I liked it but I don't know if I liked it enough to buy DLC. Now Touchgrind on the other hand I would pay for a park editor (hint, hint)
Do it like the Hook Champ guys; experiment with dlc; -New world with 5 levels (0.99) -Two new really cool characters (0.99) -New world with 5 levels, two new characters and a boss level! (1.99)
No. 5 is OK. I'd prefer 7 or more but: Sway=25 levels, 5$ DLC=5, 1$ Fair, because 25 divided by 5 is 5!
Ok, thanks for your input. A new pack would probably mean a new unlockable character as well, and perhaps even new game elements just like in the update (spinning stuff). I should have put 5-10 levels in the vote. Can an admin change that?
