I am ridiculously stoked for this game. The console version looks amazing, but frankly just the fact that you'll get to play in Herge's universe is very, very exciting to me.

    Hi David

I so hope they do not screw this up, the graphic novels are great and I hope the movies will be too.

Good to know this. Good idea to put the Hergé’s comic strip into game. I'll stay tuned for more information as the gameplay, music and graphics.

So if this is Gameloft... is it Unreal engine powered? Is the console one UE?

    Yes, Gameloft is making it.

Btw, I didn't know you people in the states would know about Tintin. I thought it was only popular in Europe.

Anyway I'm a fan of Tintin, I read nearly all the comics as a kid so I'm looking forward to playing this game. Hopefully gameloft won't let us down.

Here's a gameplay trailer for the console version.

If it's anyway like the console it will be great. I was so excited when I saw it yesterday at e3. I also cannot wait for the movie. One of my most anticipated for the year.

I grew up in Puerto Rico and read Tintin serialized (in Spanish) in a kids magazine called Billiken -- which I think was published in Argentina. So I'm sure that there are plenty of Latin American fans, too ;).

The whole Steven Spielberg/Peter Jackson collaboration deal kind of blows my mind. I hope the movie manages to meld the best of each director's respective work (Raiders of the Lost Ark/Lord of the Rings) and not the worst (Hook/Lovely Bones). The potential is there for both an incredible adventure or a total disaster. Looks good so far, though.

That's cool, it's good that it's more widely known about than I previously thought. When I was young, I read my Grandfather's collection of original Tintin comics. So hopefully if the game features some of the more memorable parts of the comic, it could be quite nostalgic.

I guess whenever a comic/book is made into a movie or a game then there's awlays a risk that the essence that made it good in the first place will be lost along the way. I'm also a fan of Dr Seuss' books, and I particularly love The Cat in the Hat. But it really should've stayed as a book. The movie was atrocious. The Tintin movie won't be live action which I'm pleased about. They just need to get the balance right so it's not too serious, but at the same time the comedy can't be exagerrated to the point where it's nothing like the original comic.

Okay, so basically Gameloft kidnapped a bunch of Telltale developers and told them to make an awesome game "or else." :D Because, damn, did you see the f'ing dynamic shadows on that thing? The fantastic animation? Not to mention the voice acting... Who made this game, really? Because it sure wasn't Gameloft!
