"Newness" and "betterness" are two completely different things. CGI gets overused to the point where people avoid it entirely. Frankly, special effects rarely to never impress me anymore. Want my money? Give me a good story, characters that seem real, develop and are well acted, and directing that holds my attention and doesn't get in the way. TDKR has all of the above.
Well, your "daw, that's cute" remark wasn't exactly the epitome of a polite response either, so I wouldn't be so quick to accuse.
Hey man, just responding in kind. If you wanted a more pleasant conversation, maybe you shouldn't have started off with a disingenuous quip at my relatively mild response to being called a liar.
But you are lying and even though you are so upset you still haven't actually denied it or disagreed with the points made against you. Im going to accept you are trolling and let you off.
What the hell did I just miss.... Props to tygamr, he pretty much owned that argument. OT: I thought this was pretty sweet. "Christian Bale Visits Aurora Survivors" (I also heard that WB donated a crap ton of money to the families and victims)
In other news, what's the next movie you guys are going to see? I'm thinking Total Recall. I was planning on seeing The Watch, but reviews and ratings for it couldn't be worse.
Yeah, The Watch is looking to be a rental movie. I still haven't seen Spider-Man yet, which I want to see, and the only two upcoming summer movies I can think of that I want to see are Total Recall and The Bourne Legacy. Maybe The Campaign and The Apparition. The movies I REALLY want to see come out later this year- Skyfall and The Hobbit.
I don't know much about Total Recall, but I saw a trailer and it didn't really impress me. However, The Campaign looks hilarious! xD
On Dark Knight Rises: my viewing of this film was hampered by sitting too close to the IMAX screen (good seats were already reserved) and thus I was blind half the time during action scenes and craning my neck back and forth during conversations. Overall I think it's decent but nowhere the experience I had watching the first two movies. Trilogy definitely peaked with the best story, atmosphere, plot twists and villain in The Dark Knight. Still going to attend a second viewing with proper seating to see if my view improves.
