I think the size of those boobs are supposed to distract Boobs from the fact that their cash is being constantly being liberated from their wallets in order to compete in this game. ArtNJ Well-Known Member Jul 13, 2009 3,212 29 48 New Jersey #13 ArtNJ, Jan 18, 2012 IAP doesnt seem to be an issue -- its only for the hero unit, and only for the very best gear. At a guess, you dont need it for perfect clears, and it probably doesnt even help that much. Hero points for upgrades seem to come pretty quick, at least over the first 10 levels -- which are not hard and dont require grinding. You might need to replay one or two if you want a "perfect" but that is normal. It seems that "piercing" and "splash" on the mages dont seem to have a lot of relevance, though maybe this changes after your done with 25 stages, which you can apparently level your units up higher and presumably get a bigger attack range. I'd farther away from level 9 by now though if it weren't for teh crashes on the very last damn wave when i use the hero attack -_- (and just found out that even finishing stage 9 on my ipod 4, without hero attacks, crashes the app -__- but at least i got the hero points and the stage clear) oh and about the piercing/area.... later on it's very helpful to have 1 or 2 blasters with some ice mages and hammer warriors in order to slow and stun masses so the blasters can nuke the hell out of everyone piercing though... i never understood it so idc... ArtNJ Well-Known Member Jul 13, 2009 3,212 29 48 New Jersey #15 ArtNJ, Jan 19, 2012 Yeah, game design is somewhat flawed. There doesnt seem to be a compelling reason for archers, the mage's attack radius is big enough, the damage drop off to archer is just too big. Maybe one DOT archer, but the DOT doesnt seem overwhelming. Similarly, while the stun guys are great, I'm not sure there is much use to the regular warrior -- the damage isnt radically better than mage, and you need to pay to level warriors when you could use the cash for something else. There is none of the sophisticated, this monster is strong again magic, weak against physical damage, type stuff found in most good TDs, so I make almost all mages (inc ice), plus hammer warriors. Have you found any hidden items? It says there are some hidden. Drexiel Well-Known Member Oct 27, 2011 1,702 0 0 Commercial Diver Ponce, PR #16 Drexiel, Jan 19, 2012 Last edited: Jan 19, 2012 Sorry for the long post, but this will explain the units a bit I used to think just like that... that Blasters were the only good class and that Sky Archers sucked... but after 20+ stage clears and being on Stage 10(while having cleared most of the Gate Breakers too and some stages being cleared multiple times so i could Perfect it) Here's what I've learned from the game. Resistance Monsters = Weak to Magic, Resistance to Melee Speedy Monsters = Low HP. Weak Versus Stun, Ice and easily clump up making Blasters and Warlords dominate). Archer can pick off strays and survivors. Normal Monsters = nothing special Healthy Monsters = Normal Walking Speed and High HP, Ice Mages, Holy Eyes and Fast Attack Units recommended. Defense Monsters = Use High Attack Units, Slow and Stun. Warlords have AoE Damage(But mobs have to be very close together) and attack TWICE as fast as a Blaster with almost 200+ to their attack (Warlord with 594 dmg while Blaster has 396) (warlords speed on lv1 is 290 while Blaster is 265, but I always see the Warlords attack 2 times per Blaster Attack) Sky Archers(Attk 347, Spd 305, Range 381) have crazy ass long range, about 350 damage and VERY fast attack speed(seems like x1.5 the speed of a warlord), BUT are single target only. They are also useful for destroying those crates that are out of the way and you just don't want to Place an unit there. Holy Eyes are very ****ing awesome.... Level 2 onwards though. Their Dot hurts mobs from waves 25+ very badly, and they work specially great against bosses with a constant stream of DoT damage. Level 1 Holy Eyes aren't worth much after waves 20+. Note: Keep Holy Eyes away from your main Unit Placement Point, Since the DOT is useless if it won't be able to reach full potential, So It's good to have it at the start or near the end, at a place that she will be able to cover units with a full DoT) Oh and I don't think that DoT's overlap, so keep Holy Eyes away from each other to maximize their damage. Brandishers and Ice Mages are a MUST... Specially Brandishers with Stun Chance and Stun Duration upgraded to Max... I just got to Wave 40 on Stage 10 with like 4 Brandishers level 2 and they almost always Stunned... Imagine a level 3 (But the ****ing game crashed so there goes all my progress) Ice Mages slowing everyone down so Brandishers can stun, Warlords then proceed to dominate choke points that are full of Stunned or Slowed Down mobs and Blasters explode everything in a big radius, albeit with lower damage than that of the Warlord. It's worth getting those Special Units(Brandisher, Holy Eyes and Ice Mage) to at least Level 2 ASAP. The only unit i see as real crap is the Splatter... but Level 1 archer with 89 dmg versus Splater level 1 with 139 damage is still heaps better(and Splatters seems to ALWAYs shoot 3 arrows even if at a single target so that's good 139x3) And nope, I haven't discovered any Items on any stage in World 1... maybe I have to destroy everything on the map to get an item... Something I still haven't done So to my conclusion: Warlords are great in Choke Points acompanied by Brandishers and Ice Mages. Blasters are good for bits where there's a huge crossroad, where a lot of units will get damaged, and they compliment well the Warlords. Sky Archers are useful for crates and long stretches where they will be able to cover more ground than any other unit, thus permitting for more single unit damage. Holy Eyes DoT is strong, upgrade it quick and leave it out of the Nuke areas where your Warlords+Blasters are doing all the damage, position them in places where there aren't many of your units so her DoT will take full effect. I think this game is pretty well done... Needs some fixes like taking out the crashes and giving more info on Stun Chance, Freeze Chance and DoT damage per second so I can better understand em). Generic, blah, milktoast, and stilted Korean animations with lots of grindy fluff that added nothing would be my take. I mean, ok, it's free, but it's not like there aren't plenty of much better TD games out there, most at $0.99. This is considering i have like 3 TD's on my ps3, like 4 more on my PSP, 5-6 on iPod(including Sentinel 3, Gem Keeper and Defender Chronicles) it's just a matter of opinions.... and since one of my fave TD's is the Final Fantasy ones on the Wii, this reminded me of it and for that i instantly liked it.... ArtNJ Well-Known Member Jul 13, 2009 3,212 29 48 New Jersey #19 ArtNJ, Jan 19, 2012 You are not wrong, but there is appeal to a TD with RPG elements where the upgrades come freely and easily and tons of grinding is not required (so far). There is challenge to it in trying to advance with minimal grinding. And its free. Objectively, I dont find it as good as many recent TDs. I'm just a sucker for RPG elements that dont require punitive grinding. C.Hannum Well-Known Member Feb 13, 2011 2,512 0 36 New York State #20 C.Hannum, Jan 21, 2012 Hence the bit about grindy *fluff* It's one of those games with lots of stuff to do that you can spend a ton of time on but has little impact on gameplay (seems a rampant "design" element in Korean games). In this game there's the heros that you can build up until your finger tips bleed, but doing so doesn't seem to be very necessary or important next to the basic TD mechanics. Doofus Battles, while lane based, took this idea to an artful level, and even the quickly forgotten Holy Moly Dragons used a similar design while being much more fresh and involving.
