Hey good people, I recently updated my trusty iPad 1 to iOS 5.0.1, thinking it would be a good idea. Well, it wasn't really that good an idea after all. Being an avid player of hidden object games, I've purchased a lot of games from Big Fish Games, but after having updated iOS, most of them won't work any longer. I've tried the same games on an iPad 2 with iOS 5.0.1 too, and most of them work there. I suppose it's because iOS 5.0.1 gives less memory for applications, but even turning my iPad off, then on and start a game immediately, doesn't help. This is quite a lot of money down the drain, when we are talking about 30-35 games at $5 a pop and I would like to know if other people are experiencing the same problems and if anyone has heard if Big Fish games are planning any updates. Otherwise I'm considering refunds.
Give me the names of some of them, and let me see if I have problems. I have LOTS of Big Fish Games, and an iPad 1, and have played many of them after updating to 5.01 and they still play fine for me.... So, if I have a couple of the same ones, I can check it out and see if I am having problems. You are not jailbroken I am assuming?
I have all the Big Fish Games, and do not have any problem, except for 1 game. Tarrot something.. the screen doesn't take the objects, so I need to switch from area to area, but other then that. No problems with all the Hidden Object Games.
Mine doesn't start or quit before the actual game starts. Games like Kate Wood, Haunted Legends: The Queen, Mystic Diary: The Lost Brother, Phantasmat, Mystic Stories etc. either doesn't load past the loading screen or crashes to the springboard when starting the game. Same games work on an iPad 2. At first my iPad 1 wasn't jailbroken and I then tried jailbreaking so I could keep an eye on the memory. Since I have roughly the same amount of ram available as when I was on iOS 4.2.1 (about 140mb) I figured it was a problem with the app and iOS 5.0.1.
It sounds like it's crashing on you, when it hits the advertisement screens. Check in your setup to see if the Air option is turned on or off. switch them back and forth. Also... it sounds weird. but change the setting for the rotation/volume switch back and forth.
