This is surprisingly good. Cant get this thought off my mind though... Phoenix HD has been cloned. Not really a bad thing since i really love Phoenix HD's mechanics, and this one seems to have its own unique take on the formula, but it is more Phoenix HD than any other shmup. Enjoying it so far, but the currency revives may just kill this game for me in the long run. For now, i will enjoy this. This is annoying. Are you guys seeing a log-in requirement in the app downloaded in your local stores? Update: Just input random stuff into user name and password and it let me play. Nice controls. Very smooth. The bottom section of the screen is for moving your finger, and the ship moves accordingly in the upper part of the screen. My only problem with the game is that it's kind of dull. Shoot down a wave of smaller ships, and and a big ship (the same ship every time from what I can tell) appears, and you shoot it down. Weapons are upgraded as you collect ... not sure what you call them ... the drops from enemies after you shoot them down. Their bullets on the screen also turn into smaller drops. These all contribute to your weapon's power meter. Every time you get him, you power meter drops. If you get hit when your power meter is at zero, you die. Beautiful, beautiful game. Controls wonderfully. But to me, it's a bit repetitive and lacks soul. It needs more variety. nightc1 Well-Known Member Oct 19, 2012 4,362 0 0 AL #7 nightc1, Aug 26, 2013 Not sure on quality but just a heads up, the first Bullet Sky is also free as are several other games by the same dev. Some have ad removal iap and whatnot, but the first Bullet Sky seems iap free, though it is iPad only. Too bad its so IAP based. But at least you can earn the "premium" currency. Royce Well-Known Member Mar 22, 2011 4,239 179 63 #13 Royce, Aug 27, 2013 Fairly competent, though thin, Phoenix clone, completely ruined by pay to win IAP. Your score does not reset when you continue, so you can keep playing and scoring higher and higher as long as you have in game currency to spend on continues, and of course you can buy it with cash. At least when Phoenix went freemium, they made it so you could grind a run, go on a scoring run, grind, score, etc. not ideal but not horrible like this game. Basically here your game ends when you die and don't want to spend any more money, for an infinite shooter, where replay value is entirely in score chasing, this one fails pretty hard due to its pay model. Sadly for this dev, the reviews don't appear to be that good for those who can play. Btw, nightc1, your reply made me chuckle.
