    My pleasure! :)

Very excited to see what will happen next in the iOS gaming space. Game developers are quickly adapting to the game controller API, so I bet this will become very popular in the near future.

I have AVP. So will update the game to support controllers. I prefer game pad when playing games :)

So iOS 7 is safe for the iCade?

iCade games will still work normally under iOS 7, as it's basically a bluetooth keyboard. Game developers who already developed for iCade won't drop iCade support, but going forward, it's most likely that all developers will switch to the official iOS 7 game controller API.

Whether they drop iCade support is up to the developer really. I can confirm that Phoenix HD still supports the iCade (as well as the iOS 7 Game Controller api) :)

Man, the anticipation of waiting to see what the official controller will look like, how it will perform, and how much it will cost is killing me.

    That's awesome.

But what I'm saying is that as newer games come out, developers will make sure to support iOS 7 Game Controller first. Once Apple announces some controllers with partnership with Logitech or whoever, game controller support will become insanely popular, and will definitely lead the way to a new era of iOS gaming. ;)

I'd be a lot more interested if there was a pinball controller in this mix, with real plunger, arcade buttons, motion bumping and that sort of thing, for iPad. Is that a possibility with this new API or is just for traditional controllers?

It's not currently possible. The API is very specific and only supports two types of controllers.

    New controllers are arriving!

    A teaser image from Logitech
    [IMG]

And a new controller from ClamCase (the famous iPad keyboard maker) called GameCase. Fits to iPad Mini, and plans to add more versions that fit various devices. Should arrive late 2013, early 2014. First added to the Controller's list.

I honestly just want a Xbox-type controller, so I can use the controller while the iPad is standing up using the Smart Cover, or connected to the TV. The ones attached to the device itself don't seem too comfortable to me.

    Btw, list is getting updated!

    Added:

    - Air Wings Intergalactic
    - Bastion
    - Phoenix HD

And as an extra bonus, Trouserheart will have iOS 7 controller support when it arrives next Thursday on the 26th of September. Will be added to the list when it comes out.
